Incredible Kid Day! Dear Roadrunners, Today is “Incredible Kid Day!” Started by the Camp Fire USA Organization in 1996, it is a day set aside to celebrate the wonders that are YOU….our amazing children! Students, we just want you to know how wonderful you are and how lucky we are to have you as part of our Laguna Road Family. Every day, we see how kind you are and how much you help each other in times of need. You work so hard and you have amazing ideas and dreams. Reach for these dreams and never give up! Do you want to be a doctor who finds a cure for a disease? Do you want to be a teacher who helps kids learn about the world? Do you want to be a musician who creates beautiful music? Do you want to be an inventor or scientist and create something that helps the whole world? Do you want to be an architect or engineer and build something in the world? Do you want to be an incredible Mom or Dad who supports and loves your children in every way? YOU CAN DO ANYTHING! We believe in you! Learn from your teachers and learn from your parents and you WILL achieve your dreams! Remember….you are an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE KID ….just by being YOU! Make sure you take advantage of the ticket pre-sale and buy your child’s ping pong ball so that you are entered in the raffle to win some outstanding prizes! Proceeds from this carnival will go to SOS and the funds will be used for staff, programs & equipment AT OUR SCHOOL!! This is your opportunity to help offset some of the budget cuts that are headed our way! We look forward to seeing all of you there!! Next month – from April 19th – 22nd is going to be our Spring Book Fair. More information will be coming home soon about times, but put it on your calendar! This is the week immediately following Spring Break!! Great time to stock up on that summer reading! Also next month (April 29th), we are going to be having our first ever Laguna Road “Father – Daughter Dance.” Look for more information to be coming home in the next few weeks. We will also be hosting a “Mother-Son Event” – that is tentatively scheduled for May 13th. More information about that next month. Lastly, I hope you all got to celebrate “Incredible Kid Day” last Thursday. We, in PTA, wanted to reiterate how wonderful your children are and how lucky we truly are to have them at Laguna Road. While I was hanging up an “Incredible Kid Day” poster last week, an upper grader came over and asked me what “Incredible Kid Day” was all about. I told him and he asked me what he had to do. I said you just have to be yourself and we get to tell you how incredible you are! He smiled and said…”How cool! That doesn’t happen a lot! Thanks!!” So if you haven’t already done so….take a minute today to share with your child how important, special, talented and wonderful they are. It is sooo worth it! Happy March Roadrunners!!
