-‐ New Firewall and VPN functions, with dedicated menu

-‐ Firewall Control Panel, to give information on the firewall status and to change it. The Control Panel displays the current state of the Firewall. The normal state The normal state is when the firewall is running with an up-‐to-‐date configuration. This can be seen when both the green icons are shown. A red icon means that the firewall is not active, and the reason can be that it is trying to start with a wrong configuration (e.g. after a reboot). Please click on "Validate firewall configuration". Yellow icons are shown after a change in any of the configuration files. If the green icon is displayed, it means that the firewall is running, but with an old configuration. To activate the new one, you have to validate it and restart the firewall. A grey icon means that the firewall module is off. You can turn it on by clicking the "Enable firewall module" button. When you validate a firewall configuration, the validation result will be shown in the panel as well. If the validation is unsuccessful, the panel will display the error message.



-‐ Basic Firewall GUI, that allows to easily block ports This function allows to easily instruct the firewall to block packets addressed to certain port numbers.

-‐ Advanced Firewall setup GUI, to configure Zones, Policies, Rules, Interfaces Zones The zones you can define represent the different networks reachable from your system. These entries are needed to define policies and rules.


Policies: Policies represent the default action the firewall will perform for any network request from/to the specified firewall zones. These policies be overridden for particular hosts or types of traffic by defining specific Rules.

Rules: Rules are the exceptions to the default policies for certain types of traffic, sources or destinations. The chosen action will be applied to packets matching the chosen criteria, instead of the default action.

Interfaces: These are the physical network interfaces on your system that should be controlled by the firewall. Each interface must then be associated to the zone it's connected to.


-‐ VPN Tunneling + GUI: allows to set up the VPN TUNNELING feature in the firewall VPN Tunneling through the Protector can be enabled here. Possible tunneling modes are IPSEC (with or without NAT), IP, GRE, PPTP.

-‐ Multiple Login IP, to allow the input of IP ranges for users' login.

And: -‐ Webfilter has been placed in the Modules and removed from the Content Filter -‐ Improved a service function, to allow faster execution of superuser commands -‐ Fixed a bug in the menu that caused continuous error messages in the webserver log -‐ Fixed a bug in the MCP rules that caused some emails be delivered in any case
