TOURIST ATTRACTIONS Lingnan Impression Park (岭南印象园) Lingnan Impression Park is a big park located in the southeast of Guangzhou. It presents Lingnan culture to visitors which only appears in the south of China, including traditional buildings, traditional handicraft, cultural performance (Shadow Play, the Marionette Show, acrobatics show, folk dance, folk-custom) and local food. Travelers are able to learn customs and culture of local residents in the past, taste local food, and buy some souvenirs.

(a) Traditional buildings (b) Traditional handicraft (c) Acrobatics show (d) Shadow Play Pearl River Night Cruise (珠江夜游) The Pearl River is the third longest inland river in China. It flows through the heart of Guangzhou city. Along the Pearl River, the views are magnificent. You can appreciate numerous historical sites and unique architectures, which are well reflecting of the history and culture of Guangzhou city. With sparkling lights on both banks of the river, modern buildings and several old bridges reflect themselves on the water surface. Pearl River Cruise creates a romantic atmosphere and leaves unforgettable impression to every visitor. We will board a ship named “God of South China Sea”, which is decorated in the style of Qing Dynasty. On the ship, we enjoy buffet dinner and can learn decorative characteristics of that period.

It is one of the world’s most spectacular new buildings, which was topped-out in 2009 and became operational in 2010. The tower is designed by Dutch Barbara couples. The designers’ aim was to design a free-form tower with a rich and human-like identity the would represent Guangzhou as a dynamic and exciting city. The tower bears similarities with the figure of a female. This place is listed as a must-see location on any visitor's check list. Chen Clan Academy (陈家祠) The Chen Clan Academy is an academic temple in Guangzhou, China, built by the 72 Chen clans for their juniors’ accommodation and preparation for the imperial examinations in 1894 in Qing Dynasty. Later it was changed to be the Chen Clan’s Industry College, and then middle school afterward. Now it houses the Guangdong Folk Art Museum. The Chen Clan Academy is notable for the rich decorations which exist inside, outside the halls and in almost every beams, ridges, walls and columns. Xiguan (西关) Xiguan or Saikwan is a traditional area of Guangzhou, China, which was located west of the old walled city. The Thirteen Factories trading ghetto was located on its southern shore and the Shamian (沙面) enclave was constructed beside it. Xiguan continues to have a distinctive culture within Guangzhou and some residents speak a distinctive dialect of Cantonese. It now forms most of Liwan District.
