INTRODUCTION

Biostadt India Ltd. believes that 'THE GROWTH OF INDIA IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE GROWTH OF THE RURAL AREAS'. Farmers being the central focus of rural India, it becomes necessary to give them a helping hand by providing them with top-of-the-line agricultural inputs and services.

BIOSTADT INDIA LIMITED has started in 5/28/2003, which is located in MUMBAI, Maharashtra.

In Jammu, Biostadt started working in 04-04-2004 under Industrial Policy 2004.

BIOSTADT-JAMMU worked as THIRD PARTY for SYGENTA INDIA LTD, FMC CORPORATION, GODGREJ, NAGARJUNA AGRICHEM LTD, and INDOFIL CHEMICAL LTD and KRISHIRASYAN EXPORT PVT LTD and mainly deals with Insecticides, Fungicides And Herbicides.

SAFETY MEASURES TAKEN WHILE IN PESTICIDES INDUSTRY

• In, “BIOSTADT INDIA LIMITED”, the health and safety of employees is

the first preference and it is followed as per the recommended

standards approved by Government of India. The following are the

criteria for workers, employees as well as visitors to enter the pesticides

industry:

• Entry

• Safety Plans: To achieve 100% safety of employees working in the

company, one should follow the Domino’s Theory to avoid uncertain

accidents.

• Product information: It is named as MSDS or SDS (Material Safety Data Sheet or

Safety Data Sheet); is a document that contains information on the potential health effects

of exposure to chemicals, or other potentially dangerous substances and on safe working

procedures when handling chemical products. The information that is contained in the

labels are as:

a) Contents, by chemical and common name.

b) Fire hazard

c) Toxicity hazard

d) Storage and handling precautions

e) First aid for inhalation, ingestion and contact with skin or eyes and many more.

• Protection plan: it includes;

i. Personal Protective Clothing And Equipments.

ii. First Aid

iii. Fire Equipments And Emergency Plans

• Sanitation And Personal Hygiene:

i. Eating and food preparation is prohibited in working areas.

ii. Smoking is prohibited in areas where pesticides are present.

iii. One should wash their hands, face, fore-arms after in contact with the

contaminated equipments or pesticides.

iv. One should not use solvents to avoid the skin absorption of pesticides.

• Engineering Controls:

a. Exhaust Ventilations should be used to control air-borne process emissions.

b. Use of Scrubbers; for liquid formulations.

c. Use of Dust Collectors; for powdered formulations.

d. For waste disposal; use of Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).

• The mission of Biostadt India Limited is to uplift their Research and

Development facility at Jammu through processes, equipment,

consumables and procedures to meet the requisite needs of every

customer. The QA Lab is in place which is playing a vital role in the

including insecticides, fungicides and herbicides with the Production

Capacity Of 24850KL/MT.

So, the Overall Turnover of the company is about approx. Rs.300

crores.
