All HOD’s are requested to give the panel members for B.E / B.Tech Part Time University Project work Viva Voce Examination as given below to the DIRECTORS for approval before January 30,2013 (Wednesday). 2. There will be 4 members in a panel (UG and PG) . (a) The panel consists of 2 senior most staff members of the department who will be permanent members for all the students in that course. (b) The Third member will be the External Examiner who will also be the permanent member for all the students in that course. (c) The Fourth member will be the Internal guide of that group of students (who will be a varying member). (d) Please ensure that the Permanent members in the Project panel is not repeated for UG and PG courses. 3. All the HOD’s are requested to prepare the Project work Viva voce Exam schedule grouped by the Project guide (not by Register Numbers).If a Guide has got 4 Project groups guided by him, please ensure that all the 4 project groups Viva Voce exam is conducted continuously on the same day. 4. Students should make a note of the guidelines for project preparation and also should take a copy of cover page, Declaration page, bonafide certificate and acknowledgement formats for uniformity of the project Report. 5. Students are allowed to take one copy of Project Report. The Department copy should be submitted in the form of CD only. 6. After taking the printout, students should keep the pages in proper order and it should be given to binding along with the cover page. 7. Students are not allowed to take printout and binding, if they are not able to do it in the project key in dates.

GUIDELINES FOR PROJECT KEY IN, PRINTOUT, BINDING & SUBMISSION:

Sequence of topics to be maintained in the Project Report: Title Page Bonafide Certificate – University format Bonafide from the place where the work is carried out, on their letter head Declaration – University format Acknowledgement – Order of names to be acknowledged is attached Contents with page numbers List of Abbreviations, if applicable List of figures, list of tables, if applicable Abstract of the work Chapter – 1, Introduction Chapter – 2, Aim and Scope of the present investigation Chapter – 3, Experimental or materials and methods; algorithms used Chapter – 4, Results and Discussion, Performance Analysis Chapter – 5, Summary and Conclusions References (in the following order only)- for Journals – name of authors, journal name, volume number, year of publication, page numbers - starting and ending.- For Books – name of author, title, name of editor, publisher, year, page numbers.- Valid internet articles. Sub chapters should be numbered as follows:

Eg. Sub Chapter of chapter 1 should be numbered as Chapter 1.1 Further sub chapters should be numbered as 1.1.1, 1.1.2 ,…. Letter Font and Line spacings: To be followed throughout the project workLine space – 1.5Font Size - 12Font Type - Arial Margin space - Left 3cm; Right – 2.5cm; Top- 2cm; and Bottom – 2 cm

Major headings – all caps – 14 font size Sub headings – Heading in caps – 12 font size Further sub headings – 12 font size, bold, italics Still further sub headings – 12 font size, italics Legend for Figures & tables: (Numbering should start with each chapter Number) Figure – Fig:1.1 : Self descriptive title, 12 font size, italics, bold (should be below the figure) Table – Table 1.1 : self descriptive title, 12 font size, bold (should be above the table) Note: Fig 1.1 refers to Figure 1 of chapter 1, Fig 2.2 refers to fig 2 of Chapter 2 Note : Table 1.1 refers to Table 1 of Chapter 1, Table 3.2 refers to Table 2 of Chapter 3. Page numbers should be centered at the bottom of each page, starting from Introduction

chapter onwards. For Contents, Abstract, List of Abbreviations, List of figures, list of tables – the page

numbers should be in the Roman Number format (i), (ii), (iii)………… and centered at the bottom of the page.
