• A Sunday school teacher was discussing the 10 Commandments with her 5 and 6 year olds. After explaining the commandment to “Honor thy father and thy mother,” she asked, “Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?” Without missing a beat, one little boy answered, “Thou shall not kill.”

• Clarity of message is very important

• What impression do we want others to remember about us?

• A biology teacher wished to demonstrate to his students the harmful effects of alcohol on living organisms. For his experiment, he showed them a beaker with pond water in which there was a thriving civilization of worms. When he added some alcohol into the beaker the worms doubled up and died.

• “Now,” he said, “what do you learn from this?”

• An eager student gave his answer.

• “Well the answer is obvious,” he said, “if you drink alcohol, you’ll never have worms.”

• Sometimes we don’t know what impression will be left with our audience.

•Are we teaching with simplicity?

• I always knew where my parents stood on Catholic faith, even when I wasn’t always so certain.

• Look around we have monuments to our values:

• Church buildings = our faith

• Court House = rule of law and love of equality

• Each of us had a reason to join the Knights; Mine is based in taking a stand for my family.

• Moral backsliding of society over the last 30 yrs

• Removal of anything related to God from public places and public view

• The ACLU is not the problem but the symptom of apathy. We the faithful who do not stand up for the faith are the problem.

•Quote from Edmund Burke “The only thing necessary for evil to succeed is for good people to do nothing.”

• Quote from Joe Worthing “If the first place someone sees the Commandments is at a county courthouse, that’s probably why he is there!”

• Part of the solution is for Churches to display support for God’s law by publicly displaying the Ten Commandments on private property where they cannot be taken down.

• In fulfilling the PM mission to restore respect in the Ten Commandments PM hopes to place these 10 Commandments plaques in as many homes as possible while erecting monuments at Churches

• For a donation of $30 or more for the monument, the Knights will give you a Ten Commandments plaque for your home or office.

• Knights are at the exits to take your donations or if you do not have a checkbook or cash with you, don’t worry, make a pledge and we will collect it from you when we deliver your plaque.

Families are the place where identity is formed. Both personal and familial.

Memory is essential to our human nature. What key memories do we plan to leave our children?

Who am I? I’m a “Gaspers” and we always do …

what will your children and children’s children answer?

"The Ten Commandments are part of God's revelation. At the same time, they teach us man's true humanity. They shed light on the essential duties, and so, indirectly on the fundamental rights inherent in the nature of the human person."

Pope John Paul IIVeritatis Splendor 1993
