What Will the enabling Works comprise of?

Will there be a drivers code of conduct in place for the project?

Yes,RJMcLeodwillproduceadriverscodeofconductwhichwillreinforceourexpectationsfromalldeliverydrivers.

Will there be an increase in the number of vehicles on the local roads during the enabling Works?

Wehadpreviouslylookedatimportingallstonefortheenablingworksandwearenowlookingtodothisslightlydifferentlybyoperatingtheborrowpitonthesiteearlierthanplanned.Thismeansthattherewillbeanincreaseinthenumberofvehiclesontheroadstobeginwith,asHeavyGoodsVehicles(HGVs)willbedeliveringmaterialstothesiteincludingaggregatesfortheroadworksonthesite,andthisislikelytolastuntillaterthisyear.ThesetrafficmovementswillbesubjecttoourTrafficManagementPlanwhichhasbeenagreedwithHighlandCouncil.Oncetheborrowpitisfunctioningthesevehiclenumberswillreduce.

Mid July 2013 - Dec 2013

Main works (contractor TBC) April 2014 - July 2016

Build 132/33kV substation (on site) - By SHE Transmission

July 2014 - October 2015

Delivery of turbines to site July 2015 - Oct 2015 and April 2016 - July 2016

Completion October 2016

What are the plans for the grid connection for the project?

WecurrentlyhaveagridconnectiondatefortheprojectinOctober2015,andthedetailofthisiscurrentlybeingfinalisedbytheprojectteamfromScottishHydroElectricTransmissionPlc.

Will there be any local job opportunities for the local area?

SSEiscommittedtomaximisingthebenefitfromourprojectstothelocalcommunity,andweseeourHighlandportalasonewayofdoingthisasitwillhelptofacilitateengagementbetweenSSEandlocalbusinesses.Wearekeentohearfromanylocalbusinesses,anditwouldbeusefulforyoutoregisterontheportalwhichcanbedoneatwww.sseopen4business-highlands.com.

Will the community benefit for the project remain as it has been agreed previously With res?

RESareintheprocessoffinalisingthearrangementswiththecommunitiesinvolvedinthecommunitybenefitfundforDunmaglasswindfarm,andtheseagreementswillbereassignedtoSSEinduecourse.SSEwillarrangetomeetwiththecommunitiestodiscussthearrangementsforthefundsoncetheseagreementshavebeensignedovertous,andwearecommittedtohonouringthecommitmentsthatREShavemadeinrelationtothesefunds.

hoW Will sse engage With the local community about the Works?

WearecommittedtocontinuingwiththelocalliaisongroupthatREShassetuptodiscusstheroadimprovementsworks.Inaddition,wewillprovideregularupdatesandnewsletterstothosewhohavesigneduptothisfromRES,andifyouwouldliketosignuptothislist,pleasecontactMarianneTownsleywhocanaddyoutothecirculationlist.Inaddition,wewillholdanotherinformationdayaheadoftheturbinedeliveriesstartingtoensurethatthelocalcommunityarekeptuptodate.
