Project Sponsor
• The Project Sponsor takes overall responsibility for the Project and resolving
any escalated issues.
• The Project Sponsor also chairs the Steering Group meetings, which is the
governance body for the Project.
Steering Committee
• The main purpose of the Steering Committee is to ensure alignment with
strategic direction and that the project remains viable throughout it’s lifecycle.
• This is the governance body for the project. This may be delegated to an
independent group or individual but not the project manager.
Project Manager
• Responsible for the day-to-day running of the project within the constraints
agreed by the Steering Committee.

• Works directly with Project Manager and Project Executive to ensure that the
project is being managed effectively to deliver to the agreed time, cost and
quality requirements. Provides UK governance executives with visibility into
