BIOLOGICAL CONTROL PROGRAMBiological control is long-term strategy used to combat select invasive species.
Free insects are available for the following invasive plants:
• Spotted knapweed
• Diffuse knapweed• Dalmatian toadflax
• Hound’s tongue
• Leafy spurge
• St. John’s wort
• Thistles (selected species)
Contact the TNRD to request an assessment. Insects are distributed on a first come first serve basis.

HOW TO APPLY
NEW INVADERS PROGRAM
New invader weeds have limited populations or are close to our borders. These plants are extremely invasive, and are a top priority for monitoring and treating. The TNRD will rebate landowners 100% of the cost of invasive plant control by a licensed contractor using herbicides. Visit the TNRD website below to see the latest list of new invaders.
HOW TO APPLYPick-up a TNRD New Invaders Program Application Form and a TNRD Noxious Weed Control Contractor List from the TNRD office or online.
50% COST SHARE PROGRAM
The TNRD will rebate landowners up to 50% of the cost of invasive plant control by a licensed contractor using herbicides on their private land.
• 160 ACRES OR LESS qualify for a maximum rebate of $1,500.
• OVER 160 ACRES qualify for a maximum rebate of $3,000.
HOW TO APPLYPick-up a TNRD 50% Cost Share Application Form and a TNRD Noxious Weed Control Contractor List from the TNRD office or online.
HERBICIDE REBATE PROGRAMThe TNRD will rebate 50% to a maximum of $250 of the cost of herbicide purchased by certified landowners who treat invasive
plants on their own property. Landowners can access the Sprayer Loan-out Program for equipment.

3SPRAYER LOAN-OUT PROGRAM
The TNRD has a variety of sprayers specially designed for noxious weed control. There is also seeding equipment for replanting grass in disturbed areas. Equipment is free of charge, and housed at Purity Feed.
