Guidelines to Geometry
LinesAngles

Circles
Line Segments
Any straight distance that starts at one spot and ends at another.
Rays
A chosen section of a line.
Line
A straight path that extends without end in opposite directions.
Intersecting lines
Two lines that cross at a point and keep going.
Perpendicular lines
Two intersecting lines with all 90 degree angles
Parallel lines
Two lines that are never able to cross as long as they don't curve.
Scalene
A triangle with no equal sides

A triangle with only two equal sides.
Equilateral
A triangle with all equal sides and angles.
Sum of Internal Angles
The sum of all triangles is 180.

Trapezoid
A quadrilateral with one set of parallel lines
Parallelogram

Rectangle

●One pair of opposite angles are equal (the angles are between unequal sides).
●The diagonal between equal sides bisects the other diagonal.
●The diagonal between equal sides bisects the interior angles.
●The diagonals intersect at 90°.

The mid-point theorem
The mid-point theorem states that the line joining the mid-points of two sides of a
triangle is parallel to the third side and equal to half the length of the third side.
