History of Longboard Surfing

PLA Tour Details-PLA Tour DetailsAmateur and Stand-Up Paddle

To help build the sport of Longboarding, The PLA will once again work with the California Surf Coalition and its surf clubs to continue building events for amateur and stand-up paddle surfers. The Amateur and Stand-Up Series will run in conjunction with the PLA’s Professional eventsPLA s Professional events.

In 2008, the PLA worked with as many 6 clubs in Southern California and over 100 amateur surfers.

Amateur and Stand-Up contests will be based on a similar point scale in age category (men and women separately). Trophies and Prizes will be awarded to each finalist in every category.

The PLA in 2009 will start the Amateur Charity Challenge.• “The Challenge” will consist of

Surf Club teams in the Amateur and Stand up Paddle divisionsand Stand-up Paddle divisions competing to earn bragging rights as the most dominate fund raising surf club in Southern California.

• PLA to hold a Charity Challenge at each of it’s 6 surf contest in 2009
