This document is the release notes and installation notes for Service Pack 3 of release 12.0 of the Avaya Predictive Dialing System (PDS).
1.1. Part Number / Version 12648-03.
1.2. Context Of The Release This is a Service Pack to be installed on top of an existing Avaya PDS release 12.0 version K50 or version K53 with or without Service Pack 1 and with or without Service Pack 2.
Note: If this installation is for a language other than ENGLISH, version K53 of PDS 12.0 must be installed rather than version K50 before any configuration work is done.
1.3. Audience This document is intended for persons installing and testing this release.
1.4. Supercedes This release is the third Service Pack for Avaya PDS release 12.0 and as such includes everything from Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2.
1.5. Dependencies / Restrictions This release was created using the UNIX “swpackage” utility and therefore must be installed with the UNIX “swinstall” utility.
This Service Pack can only be installed on an existing Avaya PDS release 12.0 with or without Service Pack 1 and with or without Service Pack 2.

2. Problem Definition / Reason for Release
This Service Pack has been created to update files changed since the release of Avaya PDS release 12.0 Service Pack 2. Items that were resolved with Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2 have been highlighted in gray.
2.1. New Features / Major Enhancements • PDS now ignores Telezapper type devices. See “Avaya PDS 12.0 Patch –
TeleZapper”, COMPAS ID 98809, for more information.

• PDS now does nuisance call monitoring and reporting to comply with regulatory changes recently passed by the State of California and by the FTC. See the “Compliance Monitor Project Plan”, COMPAS ID 96624, for more information.
• Anonymous FTP now has access to the PC Analysis files in the pcanal directory.
• PDS now allows the setting in the telephony scripting of any field in a calling list.

• Patch SDN12_419 was a “super” patch that merged almost all of the existing patches from PDS 12.0 into one. This patch has been merged into SP3.

5.3. Post-Installation Procedure This section describes all steps that must be taken after this release is installed but before the Avaya PDS is started up with the start_pds command.
5.3.1. [_] With this release the *.wt_tape files were modified to replace RMDUPS with RMDUPSFIELD and RMDUPSVALUE. The entry for RMDUPSFIELD is defaulted to ACCTNUM. If the wt_tape command was modified to change the parameter to de_reject from ACCTNUM to some other field, change the RMDUPSFIELD entry in each of the .wt_tape files to that field name.
5.3.2. [_] With this release the pcanal directory was moved to below the public directory and the permissions and ownership changed to 2775 and ftp:other. Because all files created in that directory now have a group ID of other, all users that access those files need to belong to group other. The install of the service pack will take care of the necessary system users, however, users added by the customer (from running createop) that are members of group pds_system or pds_extract will not get fixed. These users need to be modified manually by logging in as root and running the following command: usermod –G pds_agent,other <userID>
5.4. Uninstall Procedure This section describes the steps to uninstall this release.
