Redesign Plan

Product Name: Sun Luck Pure Sesame Oil

Target Group: Anyone who cooks Asian food. Sesame oil is a main ingredient for Chinese, Korean, Japanese and other Asian foods.

Brief History: “The SunLuck brand was introduced in 1968 as a line of sauces, condiments and sea-sonings for consumers interested in cooking authentic Asian meals at home.Four decades later, the demand for such items has grown dramatically througout the United States and SunLuck continues to grow with it.In the fall of 2005 the SunLuck brand was purchased by Allied Old English, Inc. from its owners. With more than fifty years of experience manufacturing food products from all around the world, it was a natural fit.”

Big Idea: This is a highly sought after product and a lot of people buy it, but it doesn’t stand out from the rest of the competition. There are a few different brands that sell sesame oil right next to it and they have a better look. It is a bit old fashioned and outdated compared to the other designs of other companies. It needs a complete re-haul. It needs a more modern look to stay in competi-tion with other companies.The colors are fairly good, but they need to be updated a bit. It also seems dark. If it can stand out from other brands then it will attract peoples eye and they will buy it. The font and logo will be changed and the Mandarin will stay on there. If it has better fonts, colors, and a simple design it will sell a lot more and not look so out dated.

The logo was recreated with the shrimp fried rice font. Myriad pro was used for all the information on the label. The sizes varied from 4 to 9. Korean calligraphy is used for the product name.

style guideLogos:There is only one logo. It should be bold and stand out above everything else. It’s dimensions are a width of 3.75 in and a height of 1.5 in.. It should be placed in the center of the label about .25 in below the label top and .5 to .75 in from the sides. The grayscale is for quick use only (printing, copying, faxing, etc.)
