Her Mission

Her aim is to help the people attain democracy

without further violence or loss of life. She

strongly believes that the army should keep

away from politics to preserve its own integrity,

as well as for the good of the nation. She was

offered freedom by Burma military government

if she would leave the country (B

urma), butshe refused. She refused it for her country and

Burmese people.

Her Vision

She is doing politics not because of her interestbut because of her fathers name and hercountry. Furthermore, Aung San Suu Kyis idea

of freedom is in the mainstream ofBurmesethought and therefore easily understood andwidely accepted by the people. From the outsetof her involvement in the nations peaceful

struggle, she offered a fresh vision of a freeBurma where the people might enjoy self-ruleand basis human and civil rights.

Even she is still arrested frequently by the militarygovernment ofBurma, she never gives up herbelief and she is still doing politic with her self-confidence.She said when I was in house arrest,

here my own, I would come down at night and walkaround and look up at my fathers photograph andfeel very close to him. I would like to say to himthen: Its you and me, father, against them Thelastly she said to Burmese people is Hope for thebest, Prepare for the worst Its indicatesthat sheorder her civilians not to give up and fall down ourhope and self-confidence.

Her behaviour

Aung San Suu Kyi is exactly her fathers

daughter in many ways superbly intelligent,

honest,fearless and tough. If ever given a

chance to her, what sort of leader would she

be? Her power to inspire devotion and

enthusiasm would be a major asset in getting

support for the difficult and unpopular choicesshe doubt would have been called upon to

make.
