The internet is a widely used research tool, providing society

with the access to global information an instant

communications.

The internet is also called the NET, is a world wide

collections of networks that links millions of business,government agencies, educational institutions and individuals.

History of Internet

The internet started by the Pentagons

Advanced research Projects Agency(ARPA) to

share the ideas of scientist allover the world.

The network called ARPANET and became

functional in 1969.

In 1969 it consisted of four main servers.

In 1984 ARPANET had more than 10,000 host

nodes.

But today it is more than 500 million host

nodes connected on the internet.
