PROJECT SEMINAR ON DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF PEDAL OPERATED CHILLI CRUSHER MACHINE

INTRODUCTION Mechanical systems comes in many shapes and forms, and they have various definitions. Before we start making machines, we need to know what were talking about: 1) A mechanism is an assembly of moving parts. 2) A machine is any device that helps you to do work, from a hammer to a bicycle. A hammer is a machine because it makes your arm longer, so you can do more work.In this presentation, we use the mechanical definition of work: Work=Force DistanceForce(F) equals mass(m) times acceleration(a), and is written as F = ma (also known as Newtons second law).

On the basis of the study, we have elaborated a simple mechanism named as PEDAL OPERATED CHILLI CRUSHER MACHINEPedal Operated Chilli Crusher Machine, is the simple an easy constructible mechanism in this competitive generation.It require less effort and less man power. It can be handled by a single person and we can also convert it into a power control cum motor or solar operated. A chilli crushing machine consists of a set of heavy steel pounds, loosely held vertically in a frame, in which the pounds can slide up and down. They are lifted by cams on a horizontal rotating shaft.

CONSTRUCTION AND WORKING PRINCIPLE

Chilly crusher machine is made from heavy duty iron fabricated structure. Having 50 mm diameter x 1200 mm length hammers which is lifted by steel cam.The machine system uses human energy and stores it in a flywheel at an energy-input rate convenient to the peddler. After storing the maximum possible energy in the flywheel, it is made available for the actuation of the process unit by the rapid release of the stored kinetic energy in the flywheel.

WORKING PRINCIPLEAs we provide motion with the help of paddle, a chain socket arrangement which is mounted on the shaft will rotate and because of that motion our gear G1 will also rotate in clockwise direction which is connected to the shaft S1.As the gear G1 rotates in clockwise direction, the gear2 which is attached to the shaft 02 will also rotate in anti clockwise direction with respect to that our flywheel and gear G3 will also rotate in same direction.As gear G3 rotates in clockwise direction, the another gear G4 which is completely mesh will rotate in clockwise direction which is attached to the shaft S3.As the shaft S3 rotates in clockwise direction with respect to that CAM will also rotate .We had provided a CAM and FOLLOWER arrangement for lifting of the punching rod. It converts rotary motion into reciprocating motion.
