Whether you are a first-time guest or have been gathering with us for some time, we are glad you are with us today. We are a family of Jesus-followers who gather each week to worship God and scatter each week to reflect God. Thanks so much for worshipping with us. Please join us in reflecting God throughout the week.

Please complete a blue guest card from the back of the worship center seats and place it in the offering tray as it passes you. We would love to be able to contact you to say hello. If you would like to know more about being a Jesus-follower, being baptized, or becoming a part of Lafayette, you are invited to meet with those in the prayer room just after the sermon. Turn left as you exit the back of the worship center, the prayer room is on the right just past the kitchen.

1 Baptism At Lafayette we believe following the example of Jesus in being baptized is an important act. We are thankful that Rachel Labello and Alexandra Wren were baptized into Jesus last week. What a blessing to share the joy with them as they begin their new life in Christ! If you would like to know more about being baptized or request baptism, please meet with the elders in the prayer room after the sermon.

2 Sharing our blessings Followers of Jesus are eager to share their lives and possessions with one another. On Sunday, August 2 we will have an opportunity to share at a wedding shower for Andrew Shepherd and his fiancé, Tori Wingbermuehle. All ladies are invited to attend the shower at 2:00pm in the fellowship hall. Andrew and Tori are registered at Macy’s, Pottery Barn, and Crate and Barrel.

3 Adult class selection begins today On August 9 we will begin three new adult classes (From A to Z: A Reading of Psalm 119; You Are Not Your Own: Becoming God’s Steward; and With: Reimagining the Way You Relate to God). Today you will have an opportunity to sign up for the class size of your choice (up to 15, up to 40, more than 40) that you will attend over the next 16 weeks.

“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone” (Colossians 4:5-6). Today these words seem to have an extra punch. I’ve been having opportunities to engage with outsiders, and I really need wisdom and grace. How about you? — Bob Clark
