Adding a picture to a slide

• To add a picture:

•Click “Insert”

•Move mouse over “Picture”

•When new box appears, click on “From File”

•Find the file on your computer, then double click on it

•Move it to where you want it located

Adding a text box to a slide

• A text box is a location where you can add text• To add a text box:

• Adding a movie clip, sound, etc is similar – just select the item you want to add

•Click “Insert”, then click “Text Box”•Move your mouse to where you want the text box, then start typing•The text box will automatically get bigger while you are typing

To add another slide after the one you are currently working on:

• Hold down the “Ctrl” key, then hit M

or

• Move the mouse to the left pane, right click, then click “New slide”

To add another slide somewhere else in the presentation:

• Locate the position for the new slide in the left pane

• Click your mouse where you want the new slide

• Hold down the “Ctrl” key, then hit Mor

• Right click, then click “New slide”

Highlight the text you want to change, then:

• Select font, size, bold, underline, alignment, etc. from toolbar

• Superscript, subscript, case, etc: click on “Format”, then “Font”

• Don’t be afraid to experiment!

To delete stuff:

Highlight whatever you want to delete (text, pictures, text boxes, etc), then:

• Hit the “Delete” key

OR

• Right click, then select “cut”

To copy stuff:

• Highlight whatever you want to copy (text, pictures, text boxes, etc)

• Right click, then select “copy”

• Move the mouse to wherever you want to insert the copied item

• Click to select that spot

• Right click and then click “Paste”

To undo changes you made since the last time you saved your presentation:

• Hold the “Ctrl” key and then hit Z

• Each time you do this, it will undo one change at a time

• Right click

• Click “Background”

• Select the background you want

• Click “Apply” for just that slide, “Apply to All” for all slides in presentation

To change views:• Click on “View”, then select one of these:

Normal: shows the current slide in the middle, and a narrow pane on the left with a small view of all the slides that will fit in the pane (scroll up/down for other slides)

Slide Sorter: shows a medium view of all the slides that will fit in the pane (scroll up/down for other slides)
