In this model we show that how we can generate a voltage from the busy traffic
We get electricity from the conversion of other source of energy, which are primary sources and are limited
If we convert K.E of Vehicle into the rotational motion then we can produce considerable amount of elctricity
We will convert Mechanical energy into Electrical energy
POWER GENERATION
The generation of electricity using the Vehicle weight can consider as an input
We connect one mechanical rod with the Dynamo and then on the surface of the road
POWER GENERATION
The possible three different mechanism are given below:
Rack and pinion mechanism Roller mechanism Crank-shaft mechanism
POWER GENERATION
Crank-shafts are required to be mounted on bearings which creates balancing problem leading to Mechanical Vibrations
As bearings are of sliding type, any occurrence of variable load leads to balancing problems
Disadvantages of crank-shaft mechanism
Maintenance will be very difficult
Can cause collision
Losses will be more
Disadvantages of roller mechanism
Most efficient mechanism
Good mounting convenience
Gear losses lie between 3-5 percentage
Efficiency lie between 90-95 percentage
Why Rack and pinion only
Rack and pinion
Works on Faraday’s law
Uses rotating coils of wire and magnetic fields to convert rotation into direct electric current
Stator provides magnetic field
DYNAMO
MECHANICAL Rotor Stator
ELECTRICAL Armature Commutator Electromagnetic Field
TERMINOLOGY OF DYANAMO
DYANAMO
A battery is anything which can store the energy through some chemical reaction
It should be a rechargeable battery
bAttery
LIGHT EMITTING DIODELED is a semiconductor
device that emits incoherent narrow-spectrum light when electrically biased in the forward direction of the P-n junction
This effect is a form of electroluminescence
Suppose 100Kg of Vehicle can generate 1Watt of power.
In 60min, 60*100Kg=6000Kg In 1440min, 1440*100Kg=1,44,000Kg
1,44,000 Kg=1,440Watt of power 100
How much of power we can generate
It is an non conventional type of producing the energy
Existing source of energy may not be adequate to meet the ever increasing demands, So this project is a one step to path off that way
This project will be helpful to solve some of the Electricity shortage problems
conclusion
Future scopeThe shortage of light can be reduced at some
extant
Wastage of energy can be minimized
Flywheel can be used to increase the rotational speed of the Dynamo shaft
It may also be used for light vehicle also
Don’t want to see India as an energy deficient country
It should be of least cost, as well as of less weight
Easy design
Efficiency should be as high as possible
Losses should be minimum
Our goals
The project is economical and easy to install
The project is eco-friendly
Maintenance and installation cost are low
This project can be implemented on road and can be used to lighten the street lights
