the origins
of Poseidon?
Poseidon God of the seas and the rivers, the creator of storms and floods and the bringer of earthquakes
and destruction. Poseidon is one of the 12 Gods that live on mount Olympus. He is also a brother of Zeus.
He is looked up to by many people.

worshiped

and why?
Fisherman, warships,
boatmen and sailors
all worshiped Poseidon. They did
this for a number of
reasons including; for
safe travel, for rich
fishing expeditions,
for good conditions
for sailing.
How was
the god
worshiped?Poseidon was worshiped for
being God of the sea.
Poseidon had many temples
throughout Greece one of
them being Sounion and
was worshiped before a trip
to sea. They would sacrifice
many bulls. They sacrificed
bulls because the bull is the
symble for Poseidon, in a
way, it represents him.
