El proyecto consiste en generar una serie de núcleos urbanos conectados entre sí a lo lar-go de un anillo que rodea la ciudad, gene-rando asÍ algo que impulse el crecimiento de la ciudad a través de la calle, núcleos que a su vez están directamente conectados con la ciudad de Makeni.

En esta intersección o núcleo se trata de dar vida al proyecto, siendo el espacio público lo más importante, espacio que se comprime o se expande según los usos proyectados.

The project is about to generate a series of ur-ban centers connected together along a ring surrounding the city, creating something that drives the growth of the city across the street, centers which are directly connected with the city of Makeni.

At this intersection or urban center it comes to give life to the project, being the most im-portant thing the public space, space that is compressed or expanded according to the projected uses.

La casa para un compositor se desarrolla de manera lineal, a partIr de dos brazos que reco-gen el programa y que se entrelazan entre sí.

Cada brazo representa uno de los aspectos de la vida del compositor, correspondiéndose uno con el habitar y el otro con el componer. Produciéndose en ambos un aumento gra-dual de la privacidad a medida que se avan-za en el proyecto.

Trata de adaptarse al terreno y abarcarlo en su totalidad, mezclando usos privados y públicos dentro de la parcela, para que el compositor pueda representar su música, en este caso en un auditorio al aire libre conectado a la vivienda.

The house for a composer develops in a linear way, from two arms that pick up the program and intertwine with each other.

Each arm represents one of the aspects of the composer’s life, corresponding one with the living and the other with the composing. Ma-king a gradual increase in both in privacy as you progress through the project.

It aims to adapt to the ground and cover it en-tirely, mixing private and public uses within the plot, so that the composer can perform his music, in this case in an open-air auditorium connected to the house.

Las piezas de este motor son unos núcleos de actividades y usos ligados al eje quebrado del agua. Estos núcleos, asociados a un círculo formalmente, recogen la idea del proyecto, en el que cada uno tiene su cometido y fun-cionan como conjunto. Se van relacionando entre si de una forma coherente y paulatina, pasando de una parte más pública, relacio-nada con el comienzo del eje y punto de acceso para crear un primer encuentro con el visitante, usuario y residente, que le anime a seguir explorando el terreno, a una parte más privada y propia de la gente que viva en la zona, e intercalando entre medias usos públi-cos y privados.

This engine parts are cores of activities and uses are related to the broken water axle. The-se cores associated with a formal circle, collect the project idea, where each has its role and function as a whole. They are related to each other in a consistent and gradual way, from a public side, related to the start of the hub and access point to create a first encounter with the visitor, user or resident, that will encourage you to further explore of the field, to a more pri-vate side of the people living in the area, and inserting in between public and private uses.

Sobre este estadio:

La permeabilidad y transparencia interior-exterior es algo innovador en un estadio, algo necesario para poder entender un espacio desde el exterior y que no te aplaste al entrar. Este aspecto viene muy de la mano de la ho-nestidad de la estructura y de los materiales. no se trata de enmascarar las tripas del edi-ficio, si no ser coherente con el concepto de transparencia y enseñar al usuario lo que hay.

Que las gradas estén enfrentadas no es más que otra consecuencia de tratar de ser lo más permeable posible. Generando una dirección que conecta un lado del estadio con el otro. Se genera un espacio continuo visualmente y que-brado temporalmente, ya que el tránsito que se sucede a lo largo del estadio va moviéndo-te por unos espacios fácilmente perceptibles.

About this stadium:

The indoor-outdoor permeability and trans-parency is something innovative in a stadium, which is necessary to understand a space from the outside and do not crush when en-tering. This aspect comes from the honesty of the structure and materials. Its not about co-vering the guts of the building, but being con-sistent with the concept of transparency and showing the user what there is.

The stands facing each other is just another consequence of trying to be as permeable as possible. Generating a direction that con-nects one side of the stadium to the other. La ciudad y su edificio/escuela:

La ciudad debe tener unidad, pero también debe romper con la monotonía, y diferenciar aquellos edificios que lo merezcan, que apor-ten al conjunto de su sociedad. En un país donde no se ha construido una escuela de arquitectura como tal, donde también tienen una táctica sobre el rumbo de la arquitectu-ra, parece la excusa ideal para hacer de este edificio algo que destaque en la ciudad.

Este edificio no debería ser un límite de la continuidad espacial de la ciudad, debería ser capaz de comunicar interior con exte-rior, así como exterior con exterior, de manera que no sea un muro inquebrantable, sino que sea permeable en las direcciones que deba, controlando los espacios que acoge a su al-rededor, haciéndose responsable de lo que le rodea.

The city and its building/school:

The city must have unity, but must also break the monotony, and differentiate those buildings that deserve to contribute to the whole socie-ty. In a country where it has not been built a school of architecture as such, where they also have a tactic on the direction of architecture, seems the ideal excuse for make this building something that stands in the city.

La arquitectura y su escuela:

La pedagogía asociada a una escuela de ar-quitectura es diferente a lo que podemos en-tender por pedagogía en el resto de escuelas. Se trata de un proceso siempre en movimiento, dinámico y flexible, con un punto de partida claro, pero con un final difuso, que no se pue-de controlar, y cuya libertad no se debe limitar.

El recorrido es lo que queda y lo que deja poso, y por lo tanto lo esencial en el aprendi-zaje. Un camino que sugiera y te lleve al límite, sirve a la vez de criba y te hace más capaz.

La arquitectura sigue un camino, que se quie-bra, y que deriva en diferentes lugares, que te lleva a salir te de ese camino y volver a entrar, a mirar hacia atrás viendo lo conseguido, y mi-rando hacia adelante, imaginando lo que aún queda. Camino de sensaciones y explora-ción, de conocimiento técnico y humanístico.

Architecture and its school.

The pedagogy associated with a school of ar-chitecture is different from what we understand by teaching in other schools. It is a process always moving, dynamic and flexible, with a clear point of departure, but with a diffuse fi-nish, which can not be controlled, and whose freedom should not be limited.

The path is what remains and leaves an im-pression, and therefore what is essential in lear-ning. A way to suggest and take you to the limit, serves both as selection of the strongest and makes you more capable.

The architecture follows a path that is broken, and results in different places, which takes you to get out of the way and come back, look back to see what has been achieved, and looking forward, imagining what is left. It is a path of sensations and exploration, technical and humanistic knowledge.

La embajada de Suiza en Madrid pretende ser algo más que un espacio que acoge el programa estipulado. Que el concepto sub-yacente a un país como Suiza, ligado a la naturaleza, las montañas y con una tradición arquitectónica sincera en cuanto a los ma-teriales y la técnica, quede bien presente en el proyecto.

El proyecto se genera a partir de dos crujías, dos pastillas conectadas en diferentes puntos y al-turas y que delimitan un patio, al que dan todos los espacios del proyecto. Este patio es un es-pacio verde conectado visualmente a lo largo de todo el proyecto y que une los dos extremos.

El programa queda por tanto recogido en am-bas crujías, dedicándose la crujía oeste a la parte más pública y la crujía este a las zonas más privadas del proyecto.

The Swiss Embassy in Madrid aims to be more than just a space that hosts the program sti-pulated. The underlying of a country like Swit-zerland, linked to nature, mountains and with a genuine architectural tradition in terms of materials and technology, is well present in the project concept .

The project is generated from two bays, two ta-blets connected at different points and heights and delimiting a courtyard, where all the spa-ces of the embassy look. This patio is visually connected throughout the entire project spa-ce and links the two ends.

Casa JeromeHouse Jerome


La casa Jerome es un encargo de una vivien-da en la que el cliente ponía como único requisito el uso del tapial de barro como ele-mento constructivo principal del proyecto. Esto no habría sido un problema si Baja California no se tratase de una zona sísmica, por lo que el uso del muro de carga no es recomendable.

Para solventar esto usamos un sistema en el que atamos las bases y la cabezas de los muros en ambas direcciones para hacer un sisitema solidario a través de vigas de madera.

La planta se genera a partir de una malla per-pendicular, dividiendo la vivienda en tres cru-jías que coinciden con las fases de ejecución de ésta.

House Jerome is an assignment in which the customer only had one requirement, the use of clay walls as the main structural element of the project. This would not have been a pro-blem if Baja California wasn’t a seismic zone, where the use of load-bearing wall is not re-commended.

To solve this we use a system in which we tie the bases and heads of the walls in both di-rections to make a solidarity system through wooden beams.

The plant is generated from a perpendicular grid, dividing the housing into three bays that match the stages of construction.

La casa de las 4 esquinas es un vivienda de fin de semana en Finlandia, con una planta que se despliega en dos direcciones perpen-diculares, abarcando visualmente desde el in-terior todos los alrededores. No tiene ni baño ni electricidad, y el confort térmico se consigue gracias a un gran espesor de aislante (12 cm) y dos estufas de leña que para un espacio tan reducido resultan más que suficiente.

The 4 corners house is a weekend home in Fin-land, with a plan that unfolds into two perpen-dicular directions, visually covering from the in-side all the sourroundings. It has no bathroom or electricity, and the thermal comfort is achie-ved through a great thickness of insulation (12 cm ) and two wood stoves that for such a small space are more than enough.

La casa Vipp es un refugio de espacio muy reducido realizado de forma completamente prefabricada y que cuenta con dos alturas, siendo la superior el espacio de habitación con solamente una cama.

El grueso del programa se encierra en una caja con dos añadidos en cubierta que son un lucernario y la habitación a la que se ac-cede por una escalera de mano. Los acaba-dos exteriores son metálicos, en concordan-cia con el resto de la casa, y en el interior se van a materiales mas amables, como made-ras blandas y suelo de piedra pulida.

The Vipp house is a shelter with a reduced spa-ce and completely prefabricated. It has two le-vels, the upper space room with only one bed.

The program is enclosed in a box with two added decks as skylights and the room that is accessible by a ladder. The exterior finishes are metallic, in corcondance with the rest of the house, and the interior materials are more friendly, as softwoods and polished stone floor.

El concepto de proyecto está basado en la prefabricación y en el ensamblaje en obra de manera fácil. Se trata de una vivienda rea-lizada en hormigón prefabricado, con una es-tructura de pilares, jácenas y losas, cerrada por unos paneles de GRC que ya incluyen el ais-lante y que quedan sin ningún revestimiento.

La modulación de los paneles de fachada genera todo el proyecto tanto en planta como en sección, llevando a los límites una pieza de fachada aparentemente sencilla.

The project concept is based on the prefa-brication and the easily assembly. It is held in housing precast concrete, with a pillar structu-re, beams and slabs. Closed by GRC panels that already include the insulation and left no coating.

Modulation of the facade panels generate the whole project both plan and section, taking to the limits a piece of seemingly simple facade.

Se trata de un refugio sin un lugar definido, un refugio replicable y adaptable al lugar gracias a que se encuentra elevado del terreno un par de metros. Es una propuesta en la que el material es la clave del concepto del proyecto. Se lleva al límite uno de los materiales que más se usa en la montaña, y del cual es necesario hacer uso para llegar a un refugio de monta-ña: el ESQUÍ.

Refugio en dos alturas, la planta baja con un programa de 3 habitaciones con literas para los montañeros que lleguen, una cocina, un baño completo, una zona común y comedor, y dos terrazas. La planta superior es la parte privada para las personas que puedan es-tar a cargo del refugio, con una habitación, un baño completo, un salón, un almacén y la terraza.

It is a shelter without a defined place, a repli-cable and adaptable to the place due to it’s elevation from the ground a couple of meters. It is a proposal in which the material is the key concept of the project. It takes one of most used materials on the mountain to the edge, which is necessary to use to reach a mountain hut: the SKI.

Refuge on two levels, the ground floor with a program of 3 rooms with bunk beds for hikers arriving, kitchen, bathroom, common area, a dining room and two terraces. The upper floor is the private par for people who may be in char-ge of the shelter, with a bedroom, bathroom, li-ving room, storeroom and a terrace .

Se trata de un churrería móvil, que se traslada por las vías del tren, tomando el ancho intern-cional de 1.43m.

Se lleva a cabo en una estructura de acero, con perfiles IPE200, para la base, a la cual se atornillará la estructura secundaria de alumi-nio conformado en frío, lo que le confiere ma-yor ligereza al vagón.

Como cerramiento se plantea el uso del EFTE en todos los planos del vagón, proporcionán-dole gran permeabilidad con el exterior y la entrada de luz, siendo a la vez un material con unas buenas prestaciones aislantes, además de aguantar altas temperaturas, lo cual, debi-do a la freidora de los churros es recomendable.

This is a mobile churrería, which moves by the train tracks, taking the interncional width of 1.43m.

Dos juguetes realizados de forma artesanal y mediante un proceso de búsqueda de una una optimización tanto formal como de uso del propio objeto.

Un juego de construcción con el que poten-ciar el aprendizaje espacial y perceptivo del niño; y un objeto volador cuyo objetivo fue la consecución de la forma óptima para adap-tarse al aire en su caída.

Two toys handcrafted and made through a process of seeking both a formal and use opti-mization as the object itself.
