Portfields is in Newport Pagnell

Newport Pagnell is a town of approximately 15,000 people, situated about 80km north of London, with Cambridge in the east and Oxford to the west.

Milton Keynes is the new city being developed nearby, but the area still feels rural, with open fields a short

distance from the town centre.

You can see our school on Google Earth – just enter ‘Portfields School, Westbury Lane, Newport Pagnell, MK16 8PS’.

If you enter your own details too, you can fly (virtually) from one location to the other!

You can also check out our school song, written by the music teacher, Mr Sohal (it’s on the website and you are allowed to find it funny).

The day is divided into four main lessons and an assembly.

English and Mathematics are taught every day, Science and Physical Education twice a week and Computer Programming once a week (although we also use laptops and projectors in class).

Other topics, such as Science, History, Geography and Design Technology are taught in blocks over a half term.

The main foreign language taught is French, which the children study once a week.

Occasionally we will have a day dedicated to one subject e.g. World War 2, or life in Victorian times, which will include dressing up, cookery or role play.

Daily life

Children seem to enjoy coming to Portfields and take an active part in learning.

They can also take part in activities outside school, such as sports festivals, music festivals and street dancing at Christmas.
