Would you believe? After stopping for drinks at an illegal bar, a Zimbabwean bus driver found that the 20 mental patients he was supposed to be transporting from Harare to Bulawayo had escaped. Not wanting to admit his incompetence, the driver went to a nearby bus stop and offered everyone waiting there a free ride. He then delivered the passengers to the mental hospital, telling the staff that the patients were very excitable and prone to bizarre fantasies.
Qantas launches flights to Kangaroo Island One of Australia’s premier eco-tourism destinations is becoming easier to visit thanks to an airport expansion that has attracted direct flights from Qantas.
Kangaroo Island is just 200 kilometres from Adelaide, and has been accessible by SeaLink ferry or REX air services.
An $18 million upgrade of the Kangaroo Island terminal has allowed Qantas to offer direct flights from Adelaide and Melbourne during the island’s busy summer months.
The flights will commence from December 2017, as part of an agreement between Qantas, the South Australian Government, Kangaroo Island Council and Adelaide Airport Limited, and are now on sale with special launch airfares starting at $99 one-way. Kangaroo Island is Australia’s third biggest offshore island and has long been regarded as one of the world’s most pristine natural environments.
