Plass Media transports the great appeal, exciting presence and magical luminosity of Plass – a project that as its name suggestsis a combination of plastic and glass – into a smaller dimension. The familiar image of a Murano pearl is interpreted on a di erentscale, using a 21st century material and process: rotationally moulded polycarbonate. As a result of the technology used, the
nishes have slight irregularities that recall the imperfections of glass, underlined by the dual light source. Plass resembles aglass pearl hit by the sun’s rays, but here the light comes from within, rather than from outside, refracted by the incisions on thesurface. The unique e ect it produces is even more immediate and usable in the new Plass Media lamp, available in table andsuspension versions and suitable for medium-sized spaces.
