ORGANELLES IN PLANT CELL
ORGANELLES IN ANIMAL CELL
Term of Cell • Home as “living things” • Rooms as “organ”, • Wall as “tissue” • Batu-bata as “cell”.
This organization level known as structural unit of living things. Cells called as functional smallest unit of living things.

All cells have 3 basic parts:
• Cell membrane: very thin covering that forms the boundary of the cell and allows certain substances to move into and out of the cell
• Cytoplasm: gel-like substance inside the cell membrane that contain a large amount of water, but also contains chemicals that carry out the life processes of the cell
• Nucleus: controls a cell’s activities and holds the cell’s genetic material

Comparison Between Plant and Animal Cell
Animal Cell
Lysosome“to break down food
into particles the rest of the cell can use and to
destroy old cells”
Small Vacuole“Stores water
So that makes lettuce crisp.
When there is no water, the plant wilts”.
Centrosome“produce
microtubules, involve in cell
division”
Sentriole“Involving in
assembly of spindle microtubules,
replicates during cell division”
Mitochondria“Energy formationBreaks down food
to make ATP”Ribosome
“makes proteins”
Cell Membrane“covering the boundary
of the cell and allows certain substances to move into and out of
the cell“
Nucleus“holds the DNA, control center”
Endoplasmic Reticulum
production of hormones and other secretory products
Golgi Apparatus“Packages, modifies, and transports materials to
different location inside/outside of the cell
Perixomesroles including
converting fatty acids to sugar and assisting
chloroplasts in photorespiration. Plant

SHORT STORY
“The small fault will be bringing big impact”
MIRACLE WORDS
• The danger of small mistakes is that those mistakes are not always small
• It’s better if we commit for ourselves to do the best in daily life or in our job
• Be someone who can be counted upon, someone who responds.
Eukaryotic Cell Organelles and Function
1. Nucleus– Nickname: “The Control Center”– Diameter : 5 micrometer– Function: holds the DNA– Parts:
1. Nucleolus: dark spot in the middle of the nucleus that helps make ribosomes
2. Karyotheca : cover and protector of nucleus3. Nucleoplasm : nucleic liquid (gel) composed of ions,
protein, enzymes, chromatine.
Eukaryotic Cell Organelles and Function
2. Ribosomes– Function: makes proteins– Diameter: 20 nm– Found in all cells, prokaryotic and eukaryotic
Eukaryotic Cell Organelles and Function
3. Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER)– Nickname: “Roads”– Function: The internal delivery system of the
cell ( serves the function as passage in cytoplasm connecting to nucleus)
– Rough RE, Smooth RE
Endoplasmic Reticulum
– 2 Types:1.Rough ER: – Rough appearance because it has ribosomes– Function: helps make proteins, that’s why it has
ribosomes
2.Smooth ER:– NO ribosomes– Function: makes fats or lipids
Eukaryotic Cell Organelles and Function
4. Lysosomes: circular, but bigger than ribosomes)– Nickname: “Clean-up Crews”– Containing various enzyme. – Function: to break down food into particles the
rest of the cell can use and to destroy old cells
Eukaryotic Cell Organelles and Function
5. Golgi Complex– Nickname: The shippers– Function: (usual found in gland cells) carry and
change the materials chemically; produce mucose, wax (sticky secretion); form active digestive system.
– Appearance: stack of pancakes
6. Mitochondria– Nickname: “The Powerhouse”– Function: Energy formation• Breaks down food to make ATP
– ATP: is the major fuel for all cell activities
Eukaryotic Cell Organelles and Function
7. Vacuoles– Function: stores water– Plant cell has large size caused : (membangun turgor sel)
( containing antocyanin pigment)( containing hydrolytic enzyme)( storage of metabolism waste)( food storage)
8. Chloroplasts– Function: traps energy from the sun to produce
food for the plant cell– Green in color because of chlorophyll, which is a
green pigment
Skeleton• Rangka sel• It has function in cell movement• Microtubulus (24 nm)• Microfilament ( 7 nm)CilliaDiameter 0.2 micrometerFlagella
Eukaryotic Cell Organelles and Function
9. Cell Wall– Function: provides support and protection to
the cell membrane– Found outside the cell membrane in plant cells
