Head Coach Lynn MilliganRider Head Coach Lynn Milligan is in her sixth season as head coach. Milligan came to Rider from SaintJoseph’s University where she was a six-year assistant coach. Three of her last five recruiting classesfor the Hawks were nationally ranked and the Hawks had 111 wins in her six seasons including five WNITappearances. Prior to coaching at Saint Joseph’s, Milligan was the top assistant coach at DrexelUniversity for six seasons. Milligan is a 1992 graduate of then Rider College with a degree inCommunication and earned her master’s in Counseling in 1994 from Rider. Milligan was a two-sport standout as Lynn Donovan lettering in basketball and softball. As a senior in 1992, Milligan helped lead theBroncs to a 9-3 record in the East Coast Conference and as a graduate assistant at Rider, the Broncscompiled a 35-20 record including a 25-11 record in the Northeast Conference. Milligan is the 19th headcoach in the now 74-year history of the sport at Rider.

Clair Bee. An accounting professor, founded Ridervarsity sports in 1928-29 and coached football,basketball and baseball. Compiled a 53-7three-year record in basketball before moving on toLIU, where he won National Championships. Jack Madden ’65. Graduated from Rider as thecareer leader in points and rebounds in basketballand was 20-5 as a Bronc pitcher on the baseballteam. Went on to enjoy a long career as an NBAreferee, including 25 NBA championship seriesgames.

Lauren Thomer ’04. After two seasons as anassistant at Army, Thomer was named the headcoach at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NewYork in October, 2009 and was awarded conferencecoach of the year honors in her first season.
Jason Thompson ’08. Four-year letterwinner formen’s basketball...drafted by the Sacramento Kingsof the NBA in the first round (12th pick overall) in2008. In his fourth season with the Kings.
Speaking of Alumni1997 Rider grad and current Associate Head Coachof the Broncs Pam Durkin was inducted into the AlCarino Basketball Club South Jersey Hall of Fameon February 10, 2010. Durkin, now in her fifthseason on the coaching staff at Rider, was the1997 Rider Female Athlete of the Year and earnedAll-Northeast Conference honors as a senior,ranking seventh in the nation in rebounding at11.7 boards per game. In 1996-97, Durkin wasnamed the South Jersey Collegiate Player of theYear by the Al Carino Basketball Club and thatyear was inducted into the Sterling High SchoolAthletic Hall of Fame.
Hall of Famer1995 Rider graduate and women’s basketball starJennifer Feeney was among five inductees into theRider Athletics Hall of Fame on June 11, 2011.Feeney graduated fourth in career scoring at Riderwith 1,262 points, fifth in career rebounds with590 and seventh in career assists with 235.
February 17 - National Girls and Women in Sports Day The Rider University Department of Athletics will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Sunday, February 17 during its women’s basketball game against Loyola Maryland. Rider will conduct its annual all-sports clinic prior to the game which will be seen on ESPN3.
No Kid-ing - Kid’s Day on January 10 Rider will participate in the Kid’s Day Out game on January 10 against Canisius...
The program from the NCAA encourages schools to center a women’s basketball game around a field trip for kids (elementary and middle school) to visit a college campus and participate in several activities including the game.

Welcome to the ShowFor the fourth season in a row, a rookie began her Bronc career in the starting lineup with Taylor Wentzelmaking the starting five at Stony Brook on November 9, 2012. Last season, Emily Fazzini cracked thestarting five against Lafayette on November 11, 2011. MyNeshia McKenzie made the start at Bucknell onNovember 12, 2010, opening the 2010-11 campaign. In 2009-10, Rider rookie Carleigh Brown made herfirst collegiate start in her first game on November 13, 2009 against Seton Hall. Carleigh was the firstRider rookie to start her first collegiate game since Stephanie Wisniewski started against Rice on November12, 2006. Fazzini started all 30 games for Rider last season, the first rookie to accomplish that since KaraBorel who started all 28 games in 2003-04.
Game on the LineIn the 30 games last season, Rider made a living at the free throw line, recording 374 of 1,670 points (22.4percent) from the charity stripe. After shooting 61 percent from the line in 2010-11, (costing the Broncsalmost 10 points per game), Rider improved to a 67.3 percent success rate in 2011-12. Rider shot aseason-high 16 for 17 (.941) from the line at Loyola Maryland on February 4, 2012.

Putting the ‘Student’ in Student-AthleteOn February 15, 2012, 218 of Rider’s 326 athletes were honored at halftime of the men’s basketball gamefor compiling a 3.00 grade point average of higher for the Fall 2011 semester...from women’s basketball,Carleigh Brown, Emily Fazzini, Sarah Homan, Kornelija Valiuskyte, Aisha Varnadore, Caitlin Bopp, ShereenLightbourne and MyNeshia McKenzie were recognized. The Spring 2012 semester academic honorees wererecognized November 29, 2012 at the men’s basketball game against La Salle. The win at St. Francis (NY) onNovember 30, 2011 clinched Rider’s first winning month (3-2 record) since December, 2002 when theBroncs went 5-1. The Broncs were .500 (3-3) in November, 2007 and 5-5 in January, 2009.

Renovated Alumni GymnasiumIn the Fall of 2012, Alumni Gymnasium reopened to competition after a summer of renovations. On July 25,2007, Rider Athletics unveiled a new Bronc logo. Only the fourth Rider Athletics logo in history, the original‘Roughrider’ logo was designed by the legendary Clair Bee 80 years ago and was last used in 1989 whenRider switched to an upright Bronc. When Rider gained University status in 1994, a ‘U’ was incorporatedinto the logo. Due to a flood in August, 2009, the Alumni Gym floor was completely replaced with the gymreopening for competition in November, 2009.
Same Name, New WebsiteIn January, 2008, the Rider Department of Athletics unveiled the redesigned GoBroncs.com website andthe site, through a year-long process was updated again with a redesign that launched November 21,2011. Through a partnership with NeuLion, we are now able to offer more content (over 80,000 pages andcounting), and ‘BroncVision’ which steams (audio and video) for the home men’s basketball games,women’s basketball games and wrestling matches (except for televised events). With the evolution of thesite, other Rider sporting events were added in 2010-11 (men’s and women’s soccer and field hockey,along with volleyball). Enhanced LiveStats via ‘GameTracker’ is also offered for all Rider home events inmen’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and softball.

12 in her career...MAAC Player of the Week December 5-11, 2011 after scoring 11 points
and pulling down 15 rebounds in a Bronc win against Stony Brook on December 6, 2011

Rider rookie, was named to the MAAC All-Rookie team and was a finalist for MAAC Rookie of the Year after being twice named
MAAC Rookie of the Week...one of only two players to play in all 30 games and made 23 starts...had five ‘double-doubles’ includ-
ing four in a row (February 6-18, 2011) where she averaged 19.0 points and 11.5 rebounds over the four-game stretch...had 22
points and 12 rebounds, playing 52 of 55 minutes in Rider’s triple overtime win at Niagara on February 18, 2011...second on the
team in scoring and rebounds and her 7.3 rebounds per game ranked 199th nationally for the season...led the team in minutes
played and averaged almost 30 minutes per contest...was also second in steals, third in blocks and fifth in assists...was fourth in
the conference in offensive rebounds, sixth in rebounding, seventh in defensive rebounds, 14th in free throw percentage and 23rd
in the MAAC in scoring.
At Springfield (Delco) High School:Four-year letterwinner in basketball, earning Central League MVP honors…McDonald’s All-American nominee and was named
Second Team All-State and First Team All-Delco, averaging 13.8 points per game as a senior…was named the best Female
Athlete her senior year at Springfield…led her team to an undefeated regular season and scored 35 points in the league champi-
onship game…voted by the high school coaches as the Player of the Decade…only the fourth player at her high school to score
over 1,000 points…also lettered three times in volleyball, earning First Team All-Central League honors and lettered in track,
running a 49.95 in the 4x1 at the Penn Relays...member of the W.E.B. DuBois Honors Society…hobbies include collecting Jordan
