The Zika Virus

Page 3: Pitch

Audience: TeenagersI have chosen to create a short story type

animation for an audience of teenagers. I

want it to convey the seriousness of the

virus, but it also needs to be interesting

and compelling enough for young people to

want to learn more about it.

It will be scientific, but not so

overwhelmingly scientific that a person

with no knowledge of science is put off, but

rather made curious and interested to learn

more.

Visual ConceptMy visual concept for my animation is a dark, scary and creepy short story, with a serious theme, visually communicated through an ink-on-water/ silhouette style.

Structure:

The animation will show the process of the Zika Virus:

• Mosquito infecting human

• Virus cell entering human body and human cell

• Virus cell multiplying and attacking human body cells

• Mosquito being infected by human
