Please pray for Bill and Liz Carlson. Their daughter Susan now sits at the feet of Jesus, getting to have the incredible experience of knowing in her entire being what it feels like to be fully loved by her Creator. After a difficult fight with cancer, she died last night. Please pray for the whole family during this time and for the jarring shock that usually comes for a parent who outlives his and her child. Pray that we will be able to jump in and assist them with whatever they need for the coming weeks.

Denise Hawley reports that her mother, Rosemary Sumner, came through hip replacement surgery well and is currently going through physical therapy. May God bless her with excellent care, quick healing, a continuing ready smile and wit, and perseverence for rehab.

Camille Mentzer went home from the hospital this week. She is asking for all visitors to hold off for a few days so that Tim can get her settled into a good routine at home and learn new ways of doing things around the house. She has plenty of food right now and is glad to be going home, though she’s exhausted right now. Let’s continue to pray for her healing from the inside out and for God to encourage her heart daily as she remains flexible to His care and His plan. Pray for supernatural wisdom for Tim as he seeks to help her physically and emotionally through this difficult time.

Rosemary Sutton has a close friend who is seriously ill. Please pray for his health.

Upcoming Class for Women

Women’s bible Study: “Stepping Up: a Journey Through the Psalms of ascent” starts March 17th. Three times a year, the ancient Israelites traveled to the temple in Jerusalem. Now it’s your turn! We invite you to join Beth Moore in aspiring to reach a new level of relationship and intimacy with God. Together we will explore Psalms 120-134, and gain a new appreciation for the life of faith as a journey to greater fellowship with and worship of God. The more we unveil our faces to God and bare our souls to Him, expressing what is on our hearts, the safer we’ll feel with Him and the closer we’ll draw to Him. God is our hiding place…our shelter through the storm. Let’s find Him in a way we’ve not yet known. No matter who you are or where you’ve been –this study is for you! Class meets Wednesdays, March 17 – May 5, 2010. 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (morning study), 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. (evening study). Childcare is available for both sessions. Sign up at the Women’s Ministry table in the lobby. Cost of workbook: $13.00 prepaid. For more information please call Ginni Christopher at 407-376-0049

bible “Storying” class, Wednesdays, February 24th – March 31st, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Teacher: Marcia Meyer. Cost $15. Of the over 3 billion people who have not heard the Gospel of Christ, over 70% of them cannot, will not or chose not to read – we refer to them as Oral Learners. Everything they have learned, they have learned through stories. In the USA alone, 58% of our population is functionally illiterate. When we learn God’s Word in story form, we “hide God’s Word in our hearts”, we can share with people of any age, and, with help of a translator, share with people from any country/language. Jesus used stories to communicate spiritual truths to people wherever He went.

Left of Matthew: The hebrew roots of Jesus the Messiah meets Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Choir room. Open to men and women. Visit us at www.leftofmatthew.org or contact Jim White at 407-733-1603 for more details.beacon class: The book of revelation. Dear Parents, Chauffeurs and Friends of Shekinah Arts Kids,We as the Generational Ministry Staff have felt God leading us to make some adjustments to our Wednesday Night Ministry. I was trained in ministry by Ray Owens, who was my middle school/high school youth pastor and after college my ministry mentor, or spiritual father. Relationship was always a priority with him: relationship with Jesus, relationship with his wife and boys, relationship with us as leaders and relationship with the students in his ministry. The impact he has had on me spiritually is indescribable. I want to have that same impact on those people that God brings into my life. Although our ministry has been marked by spiritually challenging teaching, creativity and fun we as at team have recognized that we weren’t connecting relationally with the kids and teens as we would like and feel we need to in order to effectively impact and speak spiritually into their lives. So we have been asking and praying for God to show us how to do that. God confirmed to me - through a Stouffer’s Frozen Food commercial - that some ideas we were having as a team were in fact what he was leading us to do. Check out the website: www.Letsfixdinner.com. Check out the facts and meet the families. (Get your tissues handy!)

We’re gonna fix dinner. This is not going to be the traditional “church wide dinner.” This is dinner with a purpose. It is meant to allow us as church leaders to go deeper in our relationships with your children. Our goal is not to replace your family, but to better “come alongside” your family and be an effective voice in the spiritual nurturing of your children. It is not meant for families to come hear and necessarily eat together, but for the family of God to get to know one another in the context of sharing a meal and doing devotions. Read Acts 2:42-47. :) If you have any questions or comments about our changes, do not hesitate to call or email me. Please feel free to forward this to folks you know of who may be interested in this vision for ministry. We are really excited about what God is doing. We believe this is the first-fruits of some of the new and exciting - and most importantly - impactful things God is leading us to do. Global impact celebration 2010Brothers and sisters in service to our Lord and Savior. I cannot express what a fantastic job each of you did to make this GIC the “best ever” as was stated to me and many of you by church members and missionaries. Carol Richardson told me that she and Don had attended 100’s of them and that she was overwhelmed and even took pictures of it to share with others. Dear Pine Castle United Methodist Church Family,

I come to you with my heart breaking for you as my family back home in Orlando. Today I was praying for you guys … not as a church, but as my home family … and God placed a lot on my heart. I am going to be honest with you and I warn you now that what God placed on my heart might be tough for some of you to hear, but I feel like He wants me to talk in boldness with sharing with you guys halfway around the world the way God is speaking to me about the situation you guys are dealing with.

You guys need to all acknowledge that right now you are being placed in a storm and the enemy is doing anything and everything in his power to destroy the great work God has done through and in our church. So here is what God spoke to me today … it might not all make sense because I just quickly wrote down what He was speaking to me during worship. Here it goes …

“Don’t come to church worrying about the enemy and having hatred or dislike toward your persecutors, but come into His house praising Him. Know that He is entrusting you with this storm because He knows you are going to choose to still rejoice in Him! Don’t keep hesitating on the storm and let it overtake you but instead take hold of your anchor Who is Jesus Christ, and He will bring you out of the storm; fix your eyes on Him; do not let your foundation in Christ be shaken by the enemy. Choose today as a church, and beyond being a church, choose today as brothers and sisters in Christ to join hands during this storm for support. You have two choices: you can give into the destruction of the enemy and hesitate each time you gather to focus on that and mediate on that or you can choose to rejoice and continue to lift up voices of praise to God who bring us through these seasons of change. As a member of PCUMC my lips are going to cease talk of the enemy and the people persecuting and what they are trying to do to our home and instead let the words that overflow from my mouth be praise to Him. I challenge you as a body of Christ to not hesitate or continue to speak amongst each other of the destruction of the enemy is trying to create amongst our family at PCUMC, but rather speak only of praise. Believe that as a church God believes and trusts us that we will conquer the enemy and continue to bring Him and praise and worship. Do you believe that? Do you believe that God entrusts us as a church to come through this storm? Do you understand the magnitude of how powerful it is that He believes in us? He knows that as a body of Christ we are going to come through this time of persecution just as Job did still rejoicing and praising Him. We must as a body of Christ come together as one and really believe that. Don’t waste the next month …or however long; move on because each day you continue to speak of this, you are giving in to the enemy; he is winning. Choose today to move forward as a family knowing He is with you and He will bring you through this storm.

Know that even though I am halfway around the world in Byron Bay, Australia that you are continually in my prayers. I love you all and I know that God is going to win in this situation!

“Accept the way God does things, for who can straighten what he has made crooked? Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember nothing is certain in this life.” Ecclesiastes 7:13-14
