Physician leaders cite concerns about healthcare

Physician leaders have a lot of concerns about the state of the healthcare industry. Indeed, 39% say they would not encourage their child to enter the profession. And yet, they have high overall job satisfaction; just 5% say they are dissatisfied.

Physician leaders are twice as likely other healthcare leaders to say they would not encourage their child to enter the profession. Their top reasons:

Physician leaders have high job satisfaction rates. Despite all the challenges, just 5% are dissatisfied. Here’s what they say is most important to career satisfaction.

Physician leaders moving toward EMR

Only about half (49.46%) of physician leaders currently have an EMR system. But more than a third (36.96%) say they expect to implement one within three years. For the 13.59% who do not plan to adopt EMR in the next three years, here’s what they say:

Physician leaders rate challenges of running a practice

Physician leaders ranked the challenges on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being most challenging. The most 5’s went to recruiting and retaining physicians, followed by billing and collections. But here’s a look at the percent of physicians who gave 4 and 5 scores to these factors.
