Criteria for Diagnosing Personality Disorders

Criteria:

Symptoms should appear at least inearly adulthood (age of 15)

A person must have 2 or moretypes of lasting problems from a listof four (cognitive, affective,interpersonal and impulsive)

Criteria:

The pattern must not be betteraccounted for as a manifestation ofanother mental disorder, or to thedirect physiological effects of asubstance (e.g. drug or medication)or a general medical condition (e.g.head trauma).
