• The AORN Syntegrity® Procedure List is a library of surgical procedures that covers more than 2,200 procedures, all of which are referenced to CPT®-4, ICD-10-PCS and SNOMED-CT® codes. The use of the procedure list helps ensure more accurate searches for scheduling procedures, standardized communication, and preauthorization assistance that can save your organization time and improve your reimbursement process.

2. The Perioperative Nursing Data Set (PNDS) and Standardized Nursing Documentation

• The PNDS is the only nursing language that provides standardized terminology to support perioperative nursing practice. It includes positive outcome statements that reflect patient responses to perioperative nursing care. The PNDS represents the evidence-based practice that perioperative nurses provide and highlights the nurses’ contribution to patient outcomes.

• The Standardized Nursing Documentation provides the perioperative nurse the ability to document detailed nursing care that was provided. It helps standardize health record fields to enhance sharing and comparing of data and ensures that care is documented throughout all phases of care (preadmission testing/preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative). The health record fields are mapped to the Perioperative Nursing Data Set (PNDS) to link documentation to evidence-based practice.
