In release 8.51, the modality of a secondary page can beset not only from the control that calls the page, but alsoby setting a new Modal Window property on the

secondary page itself.

This new property allows a developer to control themodality at the page level, rather than allowing the callingcontrol to determine the page modality.

A consistent look and feel at the page level can beachieved even when multiple developers use the samesecondary page across different functionalities.

The PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF) is a recordand playback test automation tool. It used to

automate functional testing. It enables PeopleSoftbrowser-based applications to be recorded, playedback, and logged.

PTF records the actions of a single user. After acustomization, upgrade, or patch, a recorded test canbe played back to make sure that the application stillworks as intended.

The test assets that are generated (tests and testcases) are managed objects in ApplicationDesigner, so they can be included in projects with

other definitions, and copied from one database toanother just like pages, record definitions,PeopleCode, and other PeopleTools definitions.

When recording a test, the PTF understands

PeopleTools metadata. It does not just recordchanges to pixels on the screen at specificcoordinates. The PTF understands PeopleSoft fieldswithin specific record definitions, on specific rows inthe buffer.
