Ø Positive Ø Behavior Ø Interventions & Ø Support
What is PBIS? PBIS is a program to create a safer and more positive
school at Encina 1. a system of clear school-wide expectations taught to
students 2. recognition and celebration for your successes! • prizes, special events, gift cards, treats, awards 3. Interventions, support, and consequences when
expectations are not met • teaching and reminders from staff, buddy rooms,
reflections, parent conference, behavior contracts, administrative referral.
How Does PBIS Work? • All students and staff follow the same set of
rules and expectations throughout all areas in our school
• These rules and expectations are displayed as a matrix, which is posted throughout the school
• When students follow the rules and expectations, they are recognized with praise, compliments, or BARKS tickets
• When students do not follow the rules, there are planned interventions, consequences, or supports to help them get back on track

• What kind of school do we want to have?
“You are in charge of your feelings, beliefs, and actions. And you teach others how to behave toward you. While you cannot change other people, you can influence them through your own behaviors and actions. By being a living role model of what you want to receive from others, you create more of what you want in your life." -Eric Allenbaugh
“Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive because your words become your behavior. Keep your behavior positive because your behavior becomes your habits. Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny.” –Mahatma Ghandi
