INTRODUCTION

• Parle was set up in 1929 in the suburbs of Mumbai city, to manufacture sweets and toffees. At that time market was dominated by famous international brands. Despite unequal competition, this company called Parle Products, survived and succeeded, by adhering to high quality and improvising from time to time.

• In 1939, Parle Products began manufacturing biscuits, in addition to sweets and toffees. Parle Glucose and Parle Monaco were the first brands of biscuits to be introduced, which later went on to become leading names for great taste and quality.

• We visited Swati Biscuits at Dadanagar. The proprietor of Swati biscuits is Mr. Om Prakash Shyamdashani. He took an agreement from Parle-G’s CEO Aroop Chauhan.

Raw Materials

Suppliers of Raw Materials• Ghee - Kanpur Edibles Oil Pvt. Ltd. in Raniya provides ghee. • Maida -Parle has tie up with different mills which provides Maida to manufacturing

units. Like in Farukhabad, Yash Floor and Himangi etc. • Sugar- Parle has it’s own sugar mill in Baharaich and they import from Brazil

Per Day Quantity Required• 4500 KG Maida ( 900 bag and 1 bag contains 50 KG of Maida).• 9 Ton Ghee• 325 Bags of sugar and 1 bag contains 50 KG

NOTE: These all things are mandatory for every manufacturer to follow thesemethods for quality check and if all these parameters are followed then expirywill last for at least 5 months.

Production Process

• Shifting of Maida is done and then through Pneumatic system it is sent to Mixer.

• Sugar is grinded and as per the weight it is also sent to Mixer.• As per the requirement Ghee is also sent to filter from tank.• The mixture prepared along with soda ammonia and water at Mixer is

called as Dough

Packaging & Distribution

• Once this process is complete then packing is done and while doing it they also check the color and size of biscuit. If any piece is found non standard then its powder is prepared and reprocessing is done.

• 1 Batch manufactures 72,000 Biscuits.• Weight of one Biscuit is 5.5gm.• Unit has installed different machines for packaging of biscuit as per the size.• Dispatch of Biscuits are done as per Parle and sent that to Depot.• They also send directly to distributor and can send till Baroda.• 7-8 Trucks dispatched everyday.
