Both these Amtoor junction & Amtoor Keshava Nagar are
different habitations with widely scattered houses. The existing
scheme is old one. Prior to metering of the connections storage
tank of 25,000 Ltrs. was not enough to cater a days need. Lot of
pilferage was observed. After the metered connections 24X7 water
supply is made available to the habitations even though the tank is
filled once in two days.
-
It is a common notion that O & M of water supply, drinking
water supply is always a loss business. But in the above case
studies we see the reverse of it. This is due to farsightedness,
metering the connections, strict enforcement of rules, awareness
among the public.
