Page A14 • October 25, 2012 • Inland Empire Community Newspapers Journalist Giuliana Rancic hosts fashion show By Naomi Bonman T elevision personality and entertainment journalist Giuliana Rancic hosted the second annual ‘Celebrating Women Runway Event’ held on Wednesday, October 17 at the On- tario Mills Fashion District. The event was sponsored by Mercedes- Benz of Ontario. “Ontario Mills is the largest out- let in California that has the latest fashion and for (fabulous prices),” Masa Liles, areas director of mar- keting for Ontario Mills, said. “We wanted to put on the fashion show to make the public aware of the great fashion and deals that the mall has to offer. We started look- ing for a great style icon and are thrilled to have Giuliana return as our special guest.” Giuliana Rancic is co-anchor of “E! News” alongside Ryan Seacrest, co-star of E!’s hugely popular “Fashion Police” and star and executive producer of her re- ality show on Style Network, “Giuliana and Bill”. She has also served as co-host of several red carpet events at award shows in the entertainment industry and was host of the Miss USA 2011 and 2012 beauty pageants. Last year on October 17, 2011, Rancic announced she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and since then she has undergone treat- ment for it. She is currently a pub- lic advocate for the cause, as well as a long-time supporter of several other charities including Operation Smile, Dress for Success, Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago and the Children’s Mira- cle Network. The event took place under the stars with top professional models strutting the catwalk wearing col- lections from some the top designs found in the Ontario Mills mall. Designer brands that were featured included Michael Kors, Tony Burch, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Kein, Hugo Boss, Elie Tahari and a se- lection of others. In addition to the top designer clothing that was featured in the show, another purpose behind ‘Celebrating Women’ was to raise funds and awareness about breast cancer. Proceeds from the show went towards the Breast Cancer Reasearch Foundation. Prior to the event there was a press conference and VIP party that was held. The VIP party fea- tured select cars from Mercedes- Benz of Ontario. During the party Ray Burke announced that they will give away a Mercedes-Benz at the third annual “Celebrating Women Runway Event”. “An event like this should be sponsored by a first class car deal- ership,” Trevor Harlow, Sales and Leasing Consultant, said.
