Only a few days before the start of the ESCCA Fourth International Summer School on Cytometry. Find below some practical information for your travel and participation. Please do not forget to ask for receipts of the expenses related to your travel to/from Valencia, in order to be reimbursed. 1. COURSE VENUE Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (“Departamento de Bioquímica”) Faculty of Medicine (“Facultad de Medicina”), the University of Valencia Avenida Blasco Ibáñez, 17. 46010 Valencia, Spain (Departamento de Bioquímica y Biología Molecular, Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Valencia, Avenida Blasco Ibáñez, 17. 46010 Valencia, España) Phone: +34 96 386 4988 /+34 96 386 4186 (Contact: Enrique O’Connor) Website: www.uv.es/mediodont Googlemaps: http://goo.gl/maps/7KxVG As a special occasion, on Friday 30 June the Courses of the Summer School will be held in the facilities of the Oceanographic and the Principe Felipe Research Center, at the City of Sciences and Arts. Website: http://www.cac.es/es/home.html The organization will provide transportation from the Faculty of Medicine to the Oceanographic. 2. TEACHERS AND STUDENTS ACCOMMODATION Residencia Universitaria San Francisco Javier Avenida Blasco Ibáñez, 55. 46021 Valencia Phone: +34 963 69 58 54 (Contact: Ms Mayte Luque) Website: www.residenciauniversitariasfj.es Googlemaps: http://goo.gl/maps/3j7HG The Residence is located at 10-minute walking distance of the School Venue. The standard accommodation fees charged by the Summer School include Bed & Breakfast rate in single room for 6 nights (Sunday to Friday, checking out on Saturday am). Additional nights that have not been booked through the Summer School, should be negotiated directly with the Reception Desk. Breakfast is served from 7:00 to 9:30 (Saturdays from 8:00 a 9:30). Dinners (not included) are served from 21.00 to 22.30. The residence is air-conditioned and has free access to internet (Wi-Fi) and Fitness Room. 3. HOW TO REACH THE COURSE VENUE AND RESIDENCE A) From Valencia Airport (Manises): The course venue and the University Residence are located only 30 minutes from Valencia Airport. Arriving by Taxi: http://www.aeropuerto-valencia.com/transportes/taxis-aeropuerto-valencia.htm# Taxis are white-color in Valencia, and are parked in front of the airport Arrivals exit. The fare of the trip Airport-City Center is about 20 €. Arriving by Metro: http://www.metrovalencia.es/page.php?idioma=_en The Airport Metro Terminal is located on underground level, and can be accessed via the escalators located to the left of the Arrivals area. Tickets can be purchased at the counter or in the automated vending machines. Cost of ticket is 3.90 €, and are indicated as “tarifa aeropuerto”. The line going directly to the University area is “Línea L3”, directions: Rafelbunyol, Alboraya-Peris Aragó or Machado (color code: red). Be careful because there is another line “Línea L5: Marítim Serrería - Torrent Av. / Aeroport” (color code: green) that shares only part of the route. For arriving both to the Course venue or the University Residence, please exit Metro at the station “Facultats”. The trip from Airport to Facultats is 25 minutes. Previous stop to “Facultats” is “Alameda”. For walking to the Residence, take the escalator at your left, cross the checkpoint in the main hall and then take the stairway at your right to the exit “Hospital Materno Infantil” and then walk for 10-12 minutes on the same sidewalk to reach the Residence. Alternatively, there is a taxi station at the right-side exit (“Hospital Clínico-Facultad de Medicina”). Taxi to the residence is 4 €. For reaching the Course venue (Facultad de Medicina) take the escalator at your left, cross the checkpoint in the main hall and then take the stairway at your left to the exit “Hospital Clínico-Facultad de Medicina”, then find the Faculty of Medicine at 100 m at your right. B) From Valencia High-Velocity Train Station (Estación Joaquin Sorolla): Those of you arriving by high-velocity train from Madrid (AVE) or Barcelona (Euromed), please take a taxi at the station exit and go either to the University Residence or the Course Venue. Please ask for the receipt. 4. REGISTRATION Registration Desk - Opening hours: Monday 26 June: 8.30-9.00 (for the Courses running on 26 to 30 June) Monday 3 July: 8.30-9.00 (for the Courses running on 3 to 7 July) At these times, participants are invited to collect their badge and other conference materials, meet and greet their fellow participants. 5. PROGRAMS OF THE SUMMER SCHOOL COURSES Below you can find the Program-at-a Glance of each Course in the Summer School. The final detailed programs of the Courses will be handed in the Registration. Note that all courses start at 9.00 h sharp, except on Fridays.

6. CERTIFICATE OF TEACHING A certificate of teaching stating the number of contact hours will be given to the professors at the end of the Course. 7. COFFEE BREAKS AND LUNCHES Coffee breaks and lunches during the Courses will be served in the University Cafeteria, located in the courtyard of the Faculty of Medicine. Attendants will receive tickets for Coffee Breaks and Lunches. Please keep your tickets. Lunches will be by self-service. 8. WELCOME GET-TOGETHER AND COURSE DINNER Summer School will offer to attendants a Welcome Informal Get-Together party, served in the Hall of the Faculty of Medicine on Monday 26 June and Monday 3 July (19.00-20.45 h). On Thursdays 29 June and 6 July, a Course Dinner (seafood and rice valencian specialties) will be served at 21.00 hours in Restaurant Marisquería Kayuko, at walking distance of the Faculty of Medicine. Please inform the Organization about any particular nutritional requirement or dislike.
