Pacific Steel Structures, LLC is the Pacific Northwest’s newest solution for tapered tubular steel utility structures. We are based in the Pacific Northwest to serve the West Coast. Our extensive product lines cover tapered tubular steel transmission poles, substation structures, and substation low-side support structures. Ladder clip

Climbing ladder clips for ladders are furnished on one face of

the pole from approximately eight feet above the ground-line to

the top of the pole. In addition, working ladder clips will be

provided 180 degrees opposite to the climbing ladder clips on

the top section of two-piece poles, or a minimum of the top 25

feet for all poles.

POLE CAP

A steel pole cap is provided with a 3/8” x 1-

1/2” bolt, a 3/8” washer and a pole cap

support plate welded to the inside of the

pole, flush with the pole top.

STEP BOLTS

Standard step clips for 3/4” diameter step bolts are welded

to the pole from approximately 8feet above the ground-line

to the top of the pole. In addition, working step clips are

placed to provide safety and easy access to hardware.

GROUNDING NUT OR PAD

A 1/2” diameter heavy hex nut is provided for the

attachment of a ground wire to the pole or a one and

two hole NEMA grounding pads are available.

GROUND SLEEVE

A ground sleeve extending one foot above

and one foot below the ground-line.

BEARING PLATE

Direct embedded poles are provided with a bearing

plate welded to the base of the pole. The plate has

a 3/16” minimum thickness.

Jacking Nuts

Sets of 1 inch diameter heavy hex nuts are

standard. They are welded onto the pole to allow

for pulling points in the tightening of slip joint

connections.

Distribution Class Poles

We offer standard distribution poles with various heights and classes available for all distribution voltages. Our steel distribution poles are a cost-effective alternative to wood poles.

When all the costs are factored in (material, labor, transportation, installation, maintenance), most utilities have found steel poles to be between 7 to 30 % less expensive than wood poles.

Pole ManufacturingOur manufacturing partner is housed in a 140,000

square foot facility in Tualatin, OR

Our manufacturing partner is the only custom job shop in the country that can laser cut, high definition plasma burn, standard plasma burn, punch, form, and weld products to 60 feet in length.

Our manufacturing partner is an Association of American Railroads (AAR) approved fabricator and operates under the AAR Quality Assurance Standard.

Our manufacturing Partner employs an experienced sales staff trained in Cad Key, Solid Works, and shop equipment operation, providing valuable assistance in material and designapplication.
