Results and findings (1)
• EuroVO-AIDA has fullfilled our expectations – and more
• IVOA is evolving, and Europe and the European projects are among the main drivers
• It demonstrates the power and necessity of having a co-ordination at European level and enough money at that level to leverage the other project resources (national, Agency level)

Overview and status of the project EuroVO-AIDA – Final review – 5 October 2010
Results and findings (2)
• The European level gives a critical mass, and allows the sharing of expertise and co-ordinated development
• The results are then re-used at the national of Agency level

Continuing needs
( e.g., US-VO funded for 5 years by NASA and NSF )
• Co-ordination at European level
• Actions towards data centres, the scientific community and education/public
• Updates of the IVOA technological framework (interoperability standards and tools)

Next steps
• Bye bye AIDA, welcome VOICE
• EuroVO-ICE: a – very small – ‘bridging’ project (1 year, strating on 1st September 2010, 200 k€, 4 partners) to support the essential Euro-VO activities and prepare the future
• Back to strategy aspects in WP2 talk
