Following are the promises that our Lord made to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque for all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months: "I will give them all the graces necessary in their state of life. I will establish peace in their homes. I will comfort them in all their afflictions. I will be their secure refuge during life, and above all, in death. I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings. Sinners will find in my Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy. Lukewarm souls shall become fervent. Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection. I will bless every place in which an image of my Heart is exposed and honored. I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts. Those who shall promote this devotion shall have their names written in my Heart. I promise you in the excessive mercy of my Heart that my all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays in nine consecutive months the grace of final perseverance; they shall not die in my disgrace, nor without receiving their sacraments. My divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment."

From the Desk of Father Ed:

Dear Parishioners, This weekend we celebrate the Sixth Sunday of Easter. In our Gospel this weekend Jesus reminds us of the need to keep his commandments. “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” It is not enough for us to say that we love our God, we must live it out by following the commandments and the teachings of the Church that our Lord has established. Jesus promised his disciples that he would not abandon them or leave them orphans and he makes us the same promise. He told them that He would ask the Father and He would send the gift of the Holy Spirit, that is, the Spirit of truth. The Holy Spirit has been given to the Church and overshadows her so that she can never fail in matters of faith and morality. That is why we can look to our Church to guide and teach us the way that leads to Heaven. The Gospel this weekend invites us into a deeper and truer love of our God by following his commandments and the teachings of the Church. Jesus promises us “...whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”

Parish Life: It was wonderful to see so many people fill the church for the diocesan Crowning of Mary. The Bishop remarked to one parishioner how he loves our parish; we are grateful that he chose Our Lady Queen of Peace to crown our Blessed Mother. A special thanks to the Knights of Columbus for providing the hospitality for the event. I also want to thank our staff, Jenn Durso, Diana Rimsnick, and Margaret Meockel for all their hard work. Congratulations to Deacon Dulibber on his ordination to the Diaconate. Deacon Dulibber has been assigned to our Parish and a member of our staff for active Ministry. His assignment begins on June 29, 2017. A special thanks to all those who helped with the party especially Jenn Durso our Office Manager, Kim Sanders and her family and the numerous parishioners who helped with the desserts. This Thursday is Ascension Thursday, which is a Holy Day of Obligation; Mass at 8:00 am and 7:00 pm.

Our Lady Queen of Peace, pray for us, Father Ed, Pastor
