Chosen Brief

A ghost story rated 12

Inspiration

Forest

Abandoned building

A house

School Location

Church/ graveyard

Church/ graveyard Chosen location We decided that a church/graveyardwould be the ideal setting as it already has that horror movie vibe to it, Death, haunted, supernatural, ghosts, etc. So the location itself already sets the creepy vibe that we want.

Saint Nicolas church Whitchurch village Woollard road Whitchurch Chew magna church Ubley church Different locations we could use.

Pitch

Enigma codes We decided that for our film idea that we would try and make it a bit of a puzzle for the audience to solve. Leaving only small traces and clues for them to follow, making the film a bit of a mystery. We think that this effect will help create the films tension, making it feel more uneasy and unpredictable. We dont want the audience to know who the protagonist is instantly, we want them to figure out for themselves what kind of character he is and why he is in this situation.

Our story is about a man with some weird and dangerous obsessions, he is a bit of a silent character, so there wont be too much dialogue involved. So we will begin with the title sequence which will be rather plain, then we will cut to a close up of a very old, black and white family picture. Perhaps with some music fading into the scene, creating an eerie vibe. Then we will see the protagonist burn it, at this point the audience gets the idea that he has some conflict with the people of this photo, which would seem strange as this photo was very old and around about the 1900. Which again leaves some confusion as from some of the other scenes you can clearly make out it is based in modern day, evidence would be because of the TV, his mobile phone, clothing, etc. Then we want him visiting the church/graveyard. We could get some good establishing shots of the area there, add some soundtrack to it, giving the scene a creepy setting. We want some low angle shots of the protagonist looking down upon some gravestones, with some cuts of POV shot looking at the protagonist from a distance. Showing that someone or something is watching him.

End.
