OUR SHORT FILM PITCHMolly and Ab

Page 2: Film pitch

We are making a 5 minute short film for our target audience of 16-24 as research has shown that these are the biggest consumers of short films and movies in general.

PRODUCT

Page 3: Film pitch

Our film is going to incorporate the aspects of time and technology, we decided that showing social networking and online community versus real life community would be relevant in light of the current boom caused by sites like facebook and you tube and the constant texting and continuous peripheral awareness of what is going on via technology.

PURPOSE OF FILM

We want our film to be really creative which has a specific meaning that can link to the audience and general modern society.

We want it to be enjoyable and have some aspects of humour that appeals to the audience engaging them within the film.

The film ought to be relevant to society but have twists and irony that will make it unique and interesting whilst still incorporating traditional story values/elements.

WHO ARE YOU TARGETING

We are targeting 16-24 year olds as research has shown that these are the biggest consumers of short films they are also the biggest users of video sharing sites which would create more widespread viewing of our film. Also the topic of our film is probably most likely to appeal to this age group as technology holds the most relevance to them and films using time travel like “back to the future” and “ the time travellers wife” are aimed at the 16-24 age group.

GENRE AND COMPARATIVE TEXTS

The genre we have chosen for our film will be a hybrid genre, a combination of both fantasy and indie genres.

our inspiration for this came from the Roald Dahl book ‘the magic finger’ and also the films ‘back to the future’, ‘Amélie’ and ‘The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus’

Title of film

•The title of the film which we have selected is 1970.•we have chosen this as it is quite ambiguous, creating an enigma.•This is because it is not specific which allows hints for psychedelic.• for the presentation of the film title we have decided to use a digital casio style number font•We chose to use this format as it links to the technological side of the plot but the title 1970 relates to the past.•This creates a contrast and almost juxtaposed, using two opposite elements of time within.
