The day started early

Most people were still asleep.
Page 5
But the place soon filled up with the first walkers.

The Airborne Memorial Walk was organised to raise moneyfor the Eerde Windmill
and the Wounded Warriors in Walter Reed hospital

And to build a bridge from past to present

The weather wasn’t working with us…

Thousands of people gathered around the DZ

But the ceiling stayed “too low” for the airplanes to get permission to fly.

The long wait and the disappointment were eased by the re-enactors.

Despite the cancellation of the jumps,a day filled with friends, good cheer and WWII!
