Name Period Date Krakatoa! Krakatoa, a volcanic island, was destroyed in a huge eruption in 1883. Ash, lava, and tsuanmis created by the eruption caused terrible destruction, and many people died on neighboring islands. Ash and dust from the volcano darkened the Sun and circled Earth, changing the Earth’s weather for five years. During the eruption, Krakatoa broke into four parts.
