By clearly identifying the criteria for breast conserving therapy, surgeons may be able to offer breast conserving therapy to more patients 12) There is evidence based data which supports new and innovative approaches for the use of radiation in breast cancer patients, the providers and oncologists need to understand these options in order to be a partner in the care of their patients with breast cancer. 13) Review the benefits of participation in clinical trials 14) Identify current genetics profiling that is available 15) Identify reasons why breast conservation rates in the lower US differ from other areas of the country 16) Review appropriate screening techniques and diagnostic tests TARGET AUDIENCE: All Physicians, Physician Extenders, Nurses, Radiation Therapists and other healthcare professionals.
