every oil well pad must be operational 24 hours a day, seven days

a week.

Our customer is an independent exploration and production

company engaged in the acquisition and development of unconven-

tional onshore oil and natural gas properties. It needed a reliable

networking provider to supply their demand for a robust wireless

solution that could be easily integrated with their existing serial net-

work. The solution provider needed to subscribe to open standards

and be able to support assured communication from each and every

wellhead to a central control room via a WiFi and WiMAX access

point.

Application requirements: Industrial open standard 802.11 suppli-

er for interoperability with field-to-enterprise devices, cost-effective

embedded serial conversion capability, and local post-sale support.
