Golf at this championship length course is more than a game, it’s a natural encounter. Located an hour northwest of Cincinnati or west of Dayton, this expansive par 72 layout stretching more than 260 acres of rolling terrain offers large undulating greens, more than 30 sand bunkers, four ponds and many mature trees. The signature par 3 16th hole challenges players to carry 175 yards of water before their ball can find a safe, dry spot on the green. This Jack Kidwell designed course is bordered by 200 acres of virgin sugar maple and beech forest teeming with wildflowers and native wildlife. Hueston Woods’ scenic surroundings make for a great trip around the links.

Lake winds full of mischief and the extra-long rough lend Scottish links style to this course on the shores of Lake Erie. The par 72 layout is wide open and fully exposed to the elements. The signature 14th hole is a twisting par 5 that features water hazards off the tee and near the green. This Arthur Hills designed course is located just 14 miles east of Toledo.

Carefully manicured greens highlight this magnificent golf course which is less than an hour’s drive south of Columbus. This Jack Kidwell design allows you to use every club in your bag as you make your away around the course. The championship layout can play more than 7,000 yards offering a tough test for even the longest hitters. More than fifty sand traps, 10 ponds and fairways flanked by trees add to the challenge. Once on the green, golfers will find beautiful greens that roll smooth and true.

This Jack Kidwell designed course is long and demanding, but worth the effort. The par 72 layout stretches more than 6,800 yards and offers some especially long and challenging holes on the backside. Signature hole number 8 is narrow and wooded, running downhill for more than 400 yards, then dog-legging over a pond to the green. Punderson is located just 25 miles east of Cleveland and about an hour’s drive from Akron, Canton or Youngstown.

Ratings: Course/Slope/Total YardsBlue: 72.3 / 125 / 6,815White: 71.2 / 122 / 6,600Red: 72.3 / 122 / 5,296

Perched high atop the rugged terrain of southeast Ohio, this course designed by Jack Kidwell offers golfers special challenges and rewards. The par 71 layout spans 250 very hilly acres with uphill approaches on nearly every hole, making this feel like the longest 6,000 yard course in the state. The only guarantee of a level lie is at the tee—from there, the adventure begins with virtually 18 signature holes.

Salt Fork is located just outside of Cambridge, 35 miles east of Zanesville, and a little more than an hour’s drive south of Akron or Canton, or north of Marietta.Ratings: Course/Slope/Total YardsBlue: 69.3 / 126 / 6,056White: 68.0 / 124 / 5,786Red: 70.2 / 123 / 5,241

This lush course near the banks of the beautiful Ohio River near Portsmouth is easy to walk and appears tame, but don’t be deceived. Jack Kidwell designed the par 72 layout to sport plenty of water hazards over its 6,407-yard length. Ponds on the tee shot and the approach make the 17th hole especially tricky. The 5th hole is simply breathtaking, coming around the bend and opening up to spectacular view of the Ohio River winding below.
