ST. JOHN’S CO-CATHEDRALAND MUSEUMSt. John’s Co-Cathedral, for-merly the Conventual Churchof the Order of St John, is his-torically and artistically one ofthe most important monu-ments on the island. It was builtbetween 1573 and 1577 tothe design of Gerolamo Cassar,chief engineer of the Order.The “Beheading of St. John”,Caravaggio’s masterpiece,hangs in the Oratory.
