several stories- a modern and magnificent structure with stores below or an opera house- in connection or both On the south sde next the courthouse the present trick buildings will probably be re ¬ concerts last evening from the band stand in the public square The evening was ideal the courthouse grounds and in fact the entire square was well lighted and at least 500 people gathered about the square in widely scattered groups to Sear the music i The square presented a beautiful appearance the prettiest any town in the state can show and the scene was similar to the plaza of a big city in some Spanish country of the tropics Since the new courthouse was built the grounds beautified and the streets paved the citizens gather about sit on the curbs of the streets the court- house ¬ I steps and walks as well as on the veranda of the Ocala House and the children get double enjoyment out of the evening by romping about the splendid walks of the courthouse yard and around the paved streets in Ocala It is composed almost entirely men en ¬ gaged in business the very best of our leading citizens jind a few of the ycunger men How and when they find time from their business and home life to give the necessary time- to practice is a mystery and that they are able and willing to give our citlr zens such music should be highly ap ¬ preciated- The band never asks a dollar of the citizens of the city except for their necessary equipment or rather for irusic uniforms and room rent as the individual members own their qwn in- struments ¬ some of them most valua- ble ¬ ones The boys just now are try ¬ ing to raise money for new uniforms- so if you appreciate their concerts volunteer to help them they are not going to beg you for it Following is the splendid program rendered last evening
