ST87600121 AHUR Oak St: 3 rd St – Grand Canal Bike Improvement Project Project Summary This project will include the following improvements by segment: 3 rd St to 7 th St: The Alternative 1 was chosen for this section. It will include a sign removal, additional signs installed to include way-finding, bike lane signs and no parking signs. Removal of existing striping, the addition of yellow, white and green thermoplastic and traffic delineators. Lighting improvements will include a conductor, electrical conduit, pull box, light poles, mast arms, LED heads, and removal and salvage of existing poles. This section also includes drought tolerant landscape improvements on the south side and micro-surfacing. This section has been changed from a cycle track to bike lanes on both sides of the street with 8 feet of parking on the north side unless chicanes can be installed in this section to alternate street side parking. Install crosswalks and stop bars at all intersecting cross-streets. Include a turn lane bicycle box at the 3 rd Street intersection. Keep west approaching bike lane on south side, modify hawk crossing and northbound stop bar to accommodate a new crosswalk on the south side of the intersection to accommodate eastbound bicycle travel, install green paint on south side adjacent to intersection on west and east approaches in conflict zones. 7 th St Intersection: The Alternative 1 for the intersection was chosen. It will include an addition of 4 ped push buttons requested on each of the corners of the 7 th Street intersection. There will be a sign removal, sign installations at HAWK for better bike safety, stamped asphalt across 7 th street, removal of existing striping, pavement marking added and green thermoplastic. Existing HAWK will remain but be modified for bicycle use with push buttons that the rider does not need to dismount for. 7 th St to 10 th St: The Alternative 1 was chosen for this section. Improvements include bike lanes, green paint in conflict zones on south side of street east of 7 th Street intersection, add crosswalk. Remove existing 5 foot sidewalk on the south side and replace with an 8 foot sidewalk, include ADA ramps if needed. There will also be a sign removal, sign installation, removal of existing striping, white, yellow and green thermoplastic as well as pavement markings being added and traffic delineators. Lighting improvements will include conductors, electrical conduit, pull boxes, light poles, mast arms, LED, landscape improvements on the south side will be replaced in kind and micro-surfacing. The proposed section consists of two 10ft traffic lanes, two 6ft bike lanes and 7ft parking lanes on the north and south side. Sidewalk ramp bump-outs will be considered for installation between Richland Street and 9 th Street per the conceptual exhibit below.

stop bar to accommodate a new crosswalk on the south side of the intersection to
accommodate eastbound bicycle travel, install green paint on south side adjacent to
intersection on west and east approaches in conflict zones.

addition of 4 ped push buttons requested on each of the corners of the 7th Street
intersection. There will be a sign removal, sign installations at HAWK for better bike
safety, stamped asphalt across 7th street, removal of existing striping, pavement marking
